I had try a whole chiken with salad and french fries for almost 30 bucks.. this is an a expensive for a whole chicken no matter the chicken tasted delicious!!! they should it bring the price down I had also notice that they don't accepted credit cards other than American Express what is wrong with Master Card, Visa, or others? I' had see other restaurant's they charged $15 dollars with salad and french fries...

I love coming to this place for chicken and the decor, that's it. This was my go to place until a co-worker told me about a Peruvian spot a couple of blocks down called Pico Rico by 103st and Northern. All I can say is mmm.... The Pescado lo Macho is Mmm.., the Jalea is Mmmm, the Parihuela is Mmmm.... But there is so much other plates that I haven't tried but I bet it is all Mmm... There is so much variety. The Sangria was also Mmmm.. The price is cheaper than Pio Pio and the decor is not all that, but they won my stomach. They have over 70 dishes, so I have to come back 60 more times to try the rest of them.

I was at home with the kids and just was not in the mood for cooking or another mac n cheese or nuggets for the kids meal. After reading so many positive reviews on Pio Pio and often walking by this place on Northern and 84th St., I finally had to try it. We ordered the "matador" platter sans the sausage fries (no pork, thank you). It was $30. Delivery took 15 minutes! Chicken was very good (moist and tons of it). It tasted like Columbian rotisserie. The only difference was that the outer skin had some of the flavorful rub on it, that most Columbian places don't put on. If only the spice rub could go on the inside of the bird, that would be fantastic! I had the chicken w/the spicy green sauce. The sauce is not killer, it's a very smooth spicy. Absolutely perfect. The plantains, rice, beans, tostones were also good. So in essence, a terrific deal for pretty good food. Seriously enough for 4 adults! Next time, I'll eat in the restaurant, try the ceviche, and take some girlfriends along. :)

We took my mother there for her birthday dinner and it was really good, I loved the family style. We ordered so much food we had tons to carry home and it was very affordable only downside is they only accept american express, so i had to run around looking for a atm lol. Other than that food was great

The food here is the best! The ceviche is out of this world. However, trying to have a conversation with the person with whom you are dining is nearly impossible because the overhead music is way too loud. It's like being in a disco and trying to eat dinner. Not cool. Bring your appetite and your ear plugs.

I am a student at BMCC (Boough of Manhattan Community College), a fellow student was talking about this place that he and his family dine at. So on Saturady, April 15th, 2007 he took me to Northern Blvd location, I first fell in love with the decor of the location. My friend told me that on Wednesday they have live Peruvian music, we odered the "Matador Combo" which included a plated Whole Chicken ( served cut in half), plate of yellow rice and red kidney beans, plate of "Salcipapaa" ( which is Fried Potatoes and Angled-Cut Fried Beef Links), "Tostones" ( Fried Green Plantains) served with a spanish garlic sauce on the side, and Avocado Salad ( Avocado, Iceberg Lettuce, Red Cabage, Onions, Carrots, Celery, Radish, Tomatoes, and light dressing). This meals was shared by three people and it was a real bargin at only $ 28.00 (U.S.). I was supprised that we received such great serves while the places was filled to capacity. I have found a new love for chicken.
