Good but not a long of bang for your buck

The "savory" entree portions are small and only above-average in quality. Ong's desserts are nice but equally meager-portioned and expensive ($9-12 I think). Our service was incredibly slow not because the kitchen staff was swamped but because our waitress was busy flirting with another server. Overall: skip the entrees and just go for a special occasion dessert.

The food is good at p*ong. It's amazing that I know that, considering every time I stop in they look around the empty restaurant and ask if I have a reservation. The first time this happened it was so off-putting I left. It was laughable. Granted, the restaurant is small, but it was at an off time and there was maybe one table eating. The next time they actually sat us, and took so long to bring the wine we were finished with out tiny appetizers and started on our entres. We were so disappointed with the service we finished our meals, corked our wine and went to a nearby dive bar to finish the bottle and actually enjoy ourselves. It's rare I find a restaurant that I really would not recommend, but this is one of them.

Went to p*ong last night and had a great meal with some girlfriends. The drinks are creative and delicious- loved roses and the caipirimansi. The savory dishes were innovative, unique and plated nicely. I loved the artic char, the cod, pork belly and foie gras. I would definitely recommend this as a great date spot (but it was still good with a group). The food is exciting and delicious and not overpowering. The lighting is soothing and the restaurant has a nicely designed decor (really cute pillows!). The desserts are also out of this world, the warm date cake and the milk chocolate & sicilian pistachio terrine were fantastic. Definitely try it!

The plates were beautiful and the desserts were phenomenal! I especially loved the chevre cheesecake and the chocolate bavarian tart. I'd definitely go back!

Overall had a good experience here. Me and my girlfriend ordered 2 savory dishes and the 3-course dessert tasting menu. We had the tuna tartare and the scallop with soba to start. We were happy and pleased by both. We were then presented with our dessert which started off with a dessert amuse of meyer-lemon ice which was yummy. The chef was kind enough to give us different desserts through the course of our meal giving us a chance to taste the confections of one of the most talented pastry chefs in the nation. To top it all off, we were served by the chef himself who was filling in for his server which added a nice personal touch to the meal. We would come back again for the p*ong suite which is a bargain to taste innovative and thoughtful cuisine which can cost more of an arm and a leg at more established eateries. If your looking for a taste of asian inspired New American cuisine in an unpretentious setting make a trip to p*ong. Bon appetit.

I went to this place one week ago with some friends and I was dissappointed. Definatelly it does not worth the prices which you will find there. The food was ok, not something special, but portions were tiny. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the plates coming. The available space is also small to accomodate all these tables they try to fit in there, which makes the place noisy and uncomfortable. I also expected the menu to offer more options. The decor is good, but you can easily find a place with even better decoration in this neighborhood. Do not pick this place. This area is full of better, and less expensive places than this, which offer better services.

We had been anxiously awaiting the opening of this restaurant because we live less than a block from it and the decor is sleek and beautiful. Last night we decided to bring a couple of friends with us. We were not disappointed with the appearance of the restaurant, but the food portions were miniscule (Mind you, we don't like to eat a whole lot of food) and the prices were gargantuan. The server recommended that we each order three dishes. Think of it this way: a normal plate of food = 3 selections = $40-$50. We all agreed that if the food was of the highest quality and care, it may have been worth it. Unfortunately, it was more on the average side. The special rhubarb cocktail was delicious, but it will set you back $14 a pop. So, go for one drink, enjoy the small, sleek space, and have dinner somewhere else.
