Had one of the best meals of RW, probably because as the waiter said "we don't believe in changing our menu for RW - you get our usual menu". And it totally showed. I will be going back, and soon!
As a bar it is great....food, eh, not so much

I made the pilgrimage far far east to experience the Smoky Manhattan drink I read about, and it was delicious. Also, the staff were all the nicest, friendliest people around, but I have to say...when I actually got to eating there...the food was terribly disappointing. It was presented well, but the flavors fell flat and were all similarly 'meh'. So I'd highly recommend this spot as a bar, but not a restaurant...since there isn't much in the area besides pizza...grab a slice for the walk over then enjoy the ambiance and the view with one of the tasty and reasonably priced cocktails they serve.

Dinner was just fabulous-- was busy but quiet and the view is spectacular. Service was very good-- polite and efficient. It really feels like you're in another city when you're all the way out there on the east river, but it was very romantic and worth the price for a special dinner.

I'm proud to say that Mr. Tom C. Has succeeded once again, although it is only his name on the restaurant. We really should congratulate Sisha Orzuar for all the wonderful things he did for Riverpark. I do admit it is a little difficult to find the place. The food is well crafted and the ambiance is exelent. Dimmed lights with a great view and always a smile, one of their foodrunners is very young but man did they train him well he greeted us with a smile and knew every dish we asked him. I have worked in plenty of restaurants in NYC and to get such a great team of employes it requires great management. If you find yourself going to this restaurant this is a must to order: Mackerel Escabeche as an appetizer, do a mid pasta course with their Lamb Cavatelli, finish it off with a Steamed Branzino. For dessert go with the beer ice-cream due to it's great uniqueness or the pumpkin spice cake! I hope you enjoy Riverpark as much as I did, you will not be disappointed.
Tom- Your staff is RUDE

Went to Riverpark on Saturday night with my parents and husband to sit at the bar and have dinner. We did not have a reservation but we walked into a half empty restaurant at 7:30pm- not a good sign! It turns out the only bar space they have for walkins are stools at the bar. I am 9 mos pregnant and my dad is 70. After seeking this restaurant out at the end of the world- its literally in an empty office park on the fdr, the staff could not have been more rude. They wouldn't seat us at any of the 15+ empty tables and they were downright nasty. Tom, might want to take a cue from Danny Meyer and teach your staff some manners.
Wonderful restaurant in Kips Bay

I returned to Riverpark last night for a birthday celebration for my aunt, and it was another great dinner. We had a great table by the window. Service was very attentive and friendly (as well as very professional). Appetizers included the cavatelli with lamb that remains outstanding. My sister had the swiss chard ravioli with chanterelles and lemon, and she loved it. Our aunt started with the lobster and artichoke salad that had a gigantic piece of lobster that was tender. Entrees included the wonderful duck that I had previously loved that remains delicious. Our aunt had the rack of lamb that now has three generous chops. I had the scallops that were lovely. Desserts included a trio of ice creams sorbets (wonderful malt ice cream and concord grape sorbet), the delicious beignets with two sauces, the molasses pound cake, and a complimentary lemon meringue with the lemon/mustard ice cream that now tastes much better. Riverpark is quickly becoming a new favorite restaurant of mine. The restaurant was almost full by 8:30 when we left. I look forward to many more visits
