Can not cook but lots of drama

1/04 Reservation for 8;30 made 2 week arrived there 8;20 was told be about 15 min. was 45 min. Service lousy our drinks sat on the bar for about 15 min Waitress for got about us. asked if those were our drink for such table gentlemen stated it was and he will have them sent over sorry about the service. I had steak ordered it Black and Blue was told they do not cook there steak that way. Said MR. came out MW. wife had shrimp dish looked like they over torched them was rubber. daughter had chix parm awsome. sent steak back came out well done thought wow they can not cook. asked to speak to the chef was told my waitress said it was not cooked enough then those two started argueing right at my table she said she didn;t say that he said yes and to start doing your job right . She told him to go F yourself you piece of sh stood up shot $50.00 bill on the table told them to eat those burt shrimp and this was all I will pay then we left. PS .NO Rocco

We went to Roccos for the first time ever on our honeymoon and loved it so much, we meet momma and took some pictures and now we have her on our own wall at home.. thank u The Egglestons

I think because it is featured on TV people are expecting too much. The food was fantastic, I recommend the shrimp and garlic bread for starters. Mama's meatballs are simply the best. Ther service was good and the female staff was very attractive. Mama even came out and sat with us for a bit. Prices were a little high, but let's be honest, this is New York, get a hotdog outside if you don't like it.

NEW YORK (Reuters) 7-27-04-- A New York judge Tuesday barred TV chef Rocco DiSpirito from the site of his reality TV show "The Restaurant," and told his financial backer he could walk away because the place was operating at a loss. "I don't think you are obligated to run a restaurant that's losing money," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Ira Gammerman told DiSpirito's partner, Jeffrey Chodorow. At the end of a two-day hearing, the judge also issued the preliminary injunction barring DiSpirito from entering Rocco's on 22nd Street, where the show was filmed before being taken off the NBC broadcast network and moved to cable TV.

I would say the best part of the Rocco's was his mother. The place was loud and more bar like than a restaurant. The loud rap music did not match the decor and the fooseball table in the front of the restaurant is a big NO! The service was ok but the constant cycle of staff watching and asking if things were ok was more than annoying. The air conditioning was out the night we were there and in July it made things worse. The food was nothing to write home about. I would have to rate Rocco's overall two thumbs down. They don't make them any more gracious then mama but she can't carry the place by herself.

Great expectations coupled with very average food and service provided for some disappointment. The food was also overpriced. The stuffed zucchini flowers and meatballs were good, but I've had better. The chicken parm was less than par. The atmosphere seemed too large and too hectic with too many waiter computer machines and too many tourists getting their pics taken. Would recommend to go at least once for the experience, but would also definitely recommend not going back. Rocco - you're better than this!

The food was excellent, there was no sign of Rocco, but had a really great meal. The only thing that kind of threw me was there were no placemats or table cloth on the marble table, kind of made everything a little louder.

I've been to some rather fantastic restaurants over the past years and was expecting Rocco's to be no exception. What I got was a nightmare. I had business clients with me from out of town that were excited to see Rocco's due to its television presence. The service at McDonald's is better than Rocco's, and quite arguably the food as well, and I hate fast food. Do not go to Rocco's with any high expectations, because you will be disappointed. I doubt Rocco could run a lemonade stand after his display of mismanagement and his obviously incredible ego that exhibits zero results.
