I have been a faithful follower of Saint Germain, even when it was called Provence en Boite. The food was consistently amazing, tasty, great pastries, loved the brunch, the dinners, you name it, it was an A+ for me. Well, I went back in the spring and it was completely different. The cute pics you see listed? Well, all thats gone. Its been replaced with decor that is decorated in the same style as a TGIFridays version of what a french bistro is supposed to be; its no longer quaint. The food was terrible, even though there were giant banners, flyers and noted on the chalkboard that the new owner was a "world famous celebrity chef" (that I had never heard of). Food was bland, uninventive and unappealing. I give it a major thumbs down. Our server was nice, but the rest of the staff were loud, rude, and when they asked me to fill out a survey card on the restaurant, looked at it right in front of our table as we were eating and then made comments and notes on it right in front of us. Um, really?

the place is a good place, but the staff is horrible. Who ever managers this place should do their job. It is one of the few place in Bay Ridge that has some feel to it, but the staff makes it where you don't want to go back. Such a simple problem can be solved. Also their wine list good use some changes
