This place is one of my favorite spots in Manhattan. The biryani is the best I've ever had. The chicken is amazing. The chai is amazing. This place changed my life.

Finally, real biryani in NYC. With the number of Indian restaurants in this city, it would not be a leap to assume that some chef, somewhere, would have managed to make a good biryani by this point. But no, many disappointments, no real biryani - until now. The lamb biryani is lovely, the chicken almost as good. Highly recommended. The only thing that comes close is the once-a-week biryani at one of the taxi driver hangouts in Curry Hill - but then what about all the other days of the week...!

Making a biryani this good is a dying art, even in India. Amazing that one can find a biryani of this quality in NYC!!! These days it's hard to find a stuff this good even in India. Definitely try the lamb biryani over the chicken. I am still in disbelief that a tiny lil place like this has one of the best biryanis around. But this place is a hole in the wall... so get take out, delivery or drop in for a quick bite... not for a date or even a proper sit down dinner.
