Horrible baked goods. Overrated.

Bought a bunch of muffins for our brunch and was totally embrassed to serve them. Totally dried out and tasteless. Never again.

I happen to think the named Sarabeths is supposed to conjure up images of home cooking and can-do-no-wrong service. However, I have been mistaken on numerous occasions. I have found the food here so bad, several times. Most recently, I ordered baked clams that I literally could smell before I put in my mouth, NOT in a good way. And they they were close to raw. IT ruined my appetite for the rest of the meal. Even had the clams been fresh and baked correctly, the breading on top was so oversalted, I wouldn't have been able to taste the clam anyway. I ordered the seafood Cobb salad, and this too was a disaster. I don't know where they get their fish, but NOT fresh. My wife had the lobster frittatta. That, too, was pretty disgusting. If this was my first experience, and they fired the chef, I'd try them again. However, this experience has happened months ago when they first opened. Now I'm done wasting my money on an overrated name.
Excellent all around - Quite redeemed from a bad 1st visit!

After a very unpleasant brunch at Sarabeth's Tribeca as noted in previous reviews, I was contacted by the owner who invited me back and assured me that I would have a better experience. Indeed I did. The service was excellent - everyone from the hostess to the waiter and managers truly went above and beyond, and the food was simply superb. The girlfriend who joined me (also one of the girls from our first visit) was genuinely impressed at the difference as well. We had a lovely time, and certainly, our first impression has been erased. The genuine concern of the owner truly offset the indifference of the previous manager, and for all of the problems with our first visit, I am willing to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that this is not the norm. Many thanks to them for their classy response -- I will be visiting Sarabeth's again!
NO CLASS wait staff

Seated 25 minutes after our reservation, everything from the tea to the sides to the sandwich was wrong. Eventually corrected, but not until friends were nearly finished eating. Problem after problem was brought to the managerâ€™s attention...nicely. Whatever, things happen. But when the bill came? They didnt do ANYTHING. No compd tea, nothing taken off of my lunch, no offer of a dessert to share, nothing. So the waiter came back (funny, now hes around to get paid; hed been MIA until then), and I said, Something needs to be done about this bill,Âť and reminded him of everything that was wrong and the inconvenience of not getting what I ordered until long after my friends did. He tells the manager who then asks me if everything ended up right â€śâ€ś which I say, yeah, >eventually.< He leaves; waiter comes back, says, looks like hes not going to do anything. WOW. I get it. You go to a place thatâ€™s riding on its hype, then you should expect to pay $17 for an omelet. And if youre not a regular at pretentious places like these, you should not be surprised when you have to wait 25 minutes for a table even when you have a reservation. But to show complete disregard for the customer, the customers experience, and the customers money, well thats just tacky, rude, and lacks any level of class. P.S. Legendary Preserves? Really? Yeah, weve got James Dean, The Rolling Stones, and, oh yes... Sarabeths *Preserves.* Might want to put that a tad in perspective.
Don't go until they work out the kinks!

I went here on Labor Day after making a reservation a week in advance because my best friend had flown in from out of town. Of course we showed up and a gentlemen who looked like a manager was standing at the host stand and told me that he did not have our reservation and we would have to wait 45min. We waited at the bar where they only had one bartender working during brunch rush hour. It took us 15-20min to get a mimosa and a coffee and 30min to get a scone. After waiting for 45-60min for a table we were finally sat. We didn't see a waiter for the first 15min at the table. I was extrememly disappointed in the service at this location. I have been waiting for it to open for months now and I can sadly say that I probably won't go back. Bubby's just around the corner has better coffee and freshly baked biscuits and the service there is WAAAY better.
