Yesterday I met with a good friend of mine for Sunday brunch. I got to Sarabeth's around 1:30am and there was a line of people and the wait was about 45 minutes. The location is perfect with stores all around and the view of central park, so waiting wasn't so bad. But for those that don't like waiting make reservations!! The inside was nice and classy, not your regular dinner breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries I got were fantastic- fluffy and soft and the syrup was great. My friend got the french toast with bananas. Those were delicious crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. And the grapefruit juice was freshly squeeze. The only cons were that the menu incorporated a lot of cheese. I'm lactose intolerant so left me with very little selection. BUT, looking around the omelets and looked delicious and very nicely presented. Also, there is seating outside but the aroma of the horses isn't my cup of tea. (I'd suggest to sit indoors) All in all, I'd definitely like to go back and try more.

Our Sunday brunch at Sarabeths was perfect! We were greeted by a pleasant and accomodating hostess and seated quickly. Our servers were attentive, efficient and friendly. Coffee, hot and just the right strength, came immediately. The almond-crusted french toast with cranberry-cherry sauce was delicious as was the chicken apple sausage. My husbands garden omelette was equally tasty. All this in a bright and charming dining room - thank you Sarabeth for such a delightful start to our day!

Love this local restaurant. Great place for breakfast (haven't been for any other meal). If you choose sweet as your craving, you are in luck. GREAT french toast with fresh berries. Go salty and have the spinach omelet with goat cheese. YUM! The service on the weekend can be hit or miss. But the food is worth it. I suggest any UWS residents to try this place.

My boyfriend and I went to Sarabeth's on a recent vacation in NY. The food was excellent. I had the goat cheese omlette and a pumpkin muffin. Both were very good. I bought several of their jams to take home, and all of them have been excellent. Unfortunately, their service did not match their food quality. Soon after our order was taken, our waiter dissapeared. Our food was brought out by another server and about a half hour after we had finished our food we were able to get the attention of another server to get our bill. Right before we left we noticed that our original waiter had switched sections and was working upstairs.

Wonderful neighborhood spot for breakfast, if you don't mind the wait. Also great for nice comfort food dinners.

To Quote Sarabeth Levine:"In 1981 Bill Levine and I opened a tiny bakery on the Upper West Side to make and sell preserves and baked goods. Soon after, a few tables and chairs were added, first for breakfast and then for lunch and dinner. A few years later, the second Sarabeth's opened on the Upper Eastside. The 1991 opening of Sarabeth's at the Whitney Museum brought the number of Sarabeth's Restaurants to three. In 2000, the Chelsea location was launched. To date,Sarabeth's still dishes out the best Brownie's,delicate finger sanwiches, baked goods, wonderful Omelette's,preserves, homemade Waffle Bowl, and much much more.
