We went on Valentine's day and it was great. There was a jazz band playing on the balcony above the bar which was a really nice touch. The food was amazing and everyone was really friendly. We would definately recommend Shelly's to couples.

Went there for my wifes birthday. The food was excellent. The big problem was I set-up with the host a surprise dessert for my wife before meal ended. He forgot to inform waiter and ruined what should have been a special evening. Dont go there if you are planning a special evening they will ruin it....Thanks Shellys

The staff at Shelly's go above and beyond, to make the dining experience as pleasurable as can be. They go above and beyond! Kudos to Moheb!

Shelly's on 57th Street is one of New York's most beautiful restaurants. No design feature has been left un-noticed by the Architects/designers. The food & preperation of food is excellent. The service is friendly and timely. The cuisine is expensive but not outrageous by New York standards. And the place is spotless from top to bottom including the kitchen. My compliments to Shelly. I was at first skeptical of a restaurant that offered reasonable prices in the tourist district.A price fixe dinner that includes an abundant Oyster and shellfish platter, 30 oz porterhouse, and gourmet desert for two is more than enough food. The porterhouse steak is grilled in butter to give a delicious crust and juicy meat. Service is attentive and not obtrusive. On two occasions, an apertif of muscatel was served gratis, ending a very pleasant and delicious meal. Caveat: Kids will find little to do while waiting and the environment is mature and sober.

Was at shellys three times and all three times I left with my head spining. First for my father's birthday. the desserts all looked so good we each ordered somthing different and funniest thing we played musical chairs with them everyone was better then the last. Then we took my son for his birthday the raw bar combo platter was out of this world. My son was amased that ther was a gentlman in the bathroom to hand out towels when washing hands and bathrooms overall cleaness. Don't forget the peter max artwork around the walls. Third time we were there we had just finished a day biking around centeral park. We had our bikes and were,........ we felt underderssed, but where welcomed with open arms and sat in the front window so we could see our bikes , fish and chips out of this world-- don't forget the homemade tatar. Would I go back again...I think I already did twice now that says somthing.
