LOVE THE MAC&CHEESE!!!!

Josh does a mean mac&cheese and you can always count on a great special like his crab sticks or artichoke dip. The braised short-ribs are too good to be true so I keep getting them time and time again and miss out on some of the other great dishes. The artichoke soup is also fantastic and overall it's just a great place to hang out and listen to his ipod soundtrack and enjoy a fantastic meal...I think I'll have to go there again this week!!!!!

Shortys is a great place to eat and a neighborhood gem. Antonio the host is very nice and always accomodating. The food is always excellent. The appetizers are especially top notch. Get the crabsticks, beet salad or seared scallops. Yum! I'm not really one to order chicken when I go out, but Shorty's has one of the best roasted chicken ever. Oh, and their bread puddings always hit the spot!

I went to Shorty's.32 last night, excited to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends. After sitting at the bar, we moved to one of the tables in the COMPLETELY EMPTY restaurant. The host came over and asked if we liked our table. When I commented yes, but it was kind of cold inside, he suggested that I get up and shut the door. He went on to say, since you took the liberty to seat yourself, why don't YOU close the door? I honestly didn’t understand what was going on at first (who treats people like that?) and he had to repeat it a few times. There were several different ways he could have handled this situation (why not ask us to move?) but he decided to take the condescending, obnoxious route. He was passive aggressive and disgusting enough for us to leave after sitting for a minute shocked and stung by his rudeness. When we said we were leaving b/c of his attitude, he shot back by saying that he was trying to run a professional establishment, and didn’t attempt to make us feel welcome or apologize. Ummm, really? Never again!

The food is consistently great, the people who work there are consistently friendly, and I have met some people from the neighborhood at the bar.

We went to Shortys32 on a recommendation from our Blue Ribbon waiter a few months ago. The host and waitress were very good... attentive without imposing; like they were dining alongside us, giving us spot-on advice and suggestions at the best of times. From the cocktails (good mixture of alcohol vs. flavor) to the starter (pork belly with beans cooked to the perfect accompanying texture) to the entrees (we ordered sea bass with toasted quinoa and beautifully colored beets and the pork milanese which was warm and generous with sweet smelling passion fruit seeds and sprouts), everything was nicely seasoned. We then had the warm apple tart and a few cool sorbets for dessert. We will definitely go back.

We ate here last night and had a great experience. The food was lovely and reasonably priced and the staff was super friendly and attentive.

I live in Soho and we've been waiting for a restaurant like Shorty's for a long time. The food is creative and delicious and the atmosphere is warm. The crab sticks and mac and cheese are especially good.

This is the best kind of neighborhood place. Lively atmosphere, great, comforting food for less money than you would expect, a staff that remembers you when you return. And they're not kidding when they say they want neighborhood clientele -- we live around the corner and have received the star treatment just for coming back a few times. Apps on the house, greetings from the chef, the whole nine yards. The only regret is that it's so crowded most of the time!

I was so excited to try Shorty's .32 and the experience started so well but finished so poorly. I was met at the door by the very welcoming host, given great drink recommendations by the bartender and then we ended up being harrassed by the waitstaff! The food was average/good and they try to rush you out the door so it was my first and last visit. The decor is lovely and the music was even better though.

Shorty's 32 provided my group with above par Service, Decor and last but not least OUTSTANDING, SPECTACULAR FOOD in a bistro setting. There are other venues where these criteria are met but it never feels like your sitting in the dining room of a friend. Maybe it's the intimate setting where conversations blend into one from table to table, or the hypnotically delicious artichoke soup and crispy crab sticks but it felt like home. The best part of the night was when my group was seated prior to a celebrity group that had arrived just after us. We were treated like stars, we dined like kings and for a night we were Rock Stars. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
