I don't know what that other reviewer was thinking. I think Snack's lamb sandwich is possibly the greatest sandwich in NYC. I dream about that sandwich.

The tiny space, and minimal decor is deceiving, for the food is wonderful and the friendly service A+.

I got the lamb sandwich and the eggplant dip. Not so great and pretty expensive.

Tourist trap

Despite the fact that the menu isn't very extensive, the dishes where quite good, I particularly liked the pastisio. However I cannot recommend this restaurant as they tried to charge me for service directly on my tab without even telling me. I find this behavior very rude but I cannot blame the waitress since I was told by her and the manager that it was a policy of the restaurant to charge tourists this way. They fixed the problem but spoiled my evening. So for locals this is an intimate place to go with good food, however tourists should avoid this place since they will overcharge you.

Snack is great, I would definitely go back! Be warned though, the place is tiny, so the wait may be long. But, the host is kind enought to take down your cell phone number and call you when your table is ready so that you can wander the neighborhood or grab a drink at one of the bars around the corner. The food at Snack is so delicious it's definitely worth the wait!
