As a local, this place's fantastic location has made it an option even after one or two slightly overpriced, underwhelming food experiences. Our most recent, and final, experience however left me laid up all weekend on the couch, running between the living room and bathroom. Their latest health code violations (70!) says it all. Maybe a better restaurant could open in the space...

Good restaurant. Not great but good. I go there when I'm working in the building. However I do not know that I would otherwise make a special trip. The prices and atmosphere is nice. In the summer you can eat outside which is a huge plus. You are right on the Hudson with nice views of Jersey City.

Had a great dinner and drinks there with friends last week. The last time we were there we were charged for some extra drinks and I wrote an email to the manager to complain about it. This time we were served by the manager, who came to our table several times to make sure everything was good and to apologize for what happened last time. We all make mistakes but its the aftermath that matters. Southwest has definitely redeemed itself in my eyes and I will be going there again. The mango mojitos, the mushroom pizza and the goat cheese saled are great!!!

I had dinner and drinks with a couple of friends at Southwest yesterday. My boyfriend ordered a Gin & Campari and got charged $8 for the Gin and another $8 for the Campari. We explained to the waitress that this is one drink, like a Negroni or a Martini, but she said she did not have a button for it on her computer and we'd have to talk to the manager. At every other restaurant that we have been to, and at Southwest, this is one drink and costs around $8-10. After waiting more than 30 minutes to talk to the manager at 1030pm outside, the waitress came back and rudely said she can take off $6 for the drink. I dont plan on coming to this restaurant again.

I don't need the place for the view, there are great views all over there whereever one sits. Ordered pancakes, hardly had syrup on them which were tasteless without and then with extra syrup. Double expresso cost 6 bucks plus tax. Starbucks nearby is 2.11 and Lilly is 2.45. They wait for the tourists like whalers ready to throw a harpoon.

This place is great if it is a warm night and you want a couple of drinks outisde - the margaritas are good and not that expensive. Don't bother eating here though. Awful food

If you like to sit outside in the summer months looking out on the harbour, sipping drinks, this place is great. The food is so so, but it's not expensive, you can't really complain. I wouldn't go if you couldn't sit outside. Drinks are so so also (don't try to order any drinks not on the menu) and the martini glasses are made of plastic. But overall, when you take into consideration that you're sitting in a very clean environment, fresh air, no traffic, etc - it's definitely worth it.

Hit is big margaritas in all flavors for $8.50. Miss, may not always get what you ordered or can wait 20 minutes for the drink. Hit, outside seating & cool inside decor & friendly staff. Miss, such big space inside & out that staff get confused w/ orders & sometimes service can be very slow. Hit, nice to overlook the harbour. Food is hit or miss. Nachos & quesedillas are the bomb. Salads are sad.
