Soy Luck Club, a hip little bistro that sits on the corner of Greenwich Ave. and Jane St. in the village, is a great place to have a guilt-free snack, chill with friends, work or people watch through large open windows at the front of the store. There is an elegance to the food. It’s simple, but healthy and the flavors are rich. Most everything is organic. SLC’s signature drink, the Soyafrost, is a unique and delicious interpretation of the frozen beverage; it’s kind of like a Frapuchino, but made with soy milk, ice and your choice of flavoring. I like the chocolate mint. The decor is edgy, but chill. You can hover over a meal or a laptop at one of the Eero Saarinen pedestal tables and relax in a cushioned molded Eames armchair. The music is exceptional, the service is good and the atmosphere is mellow and welcoming. All of this helps give this cafe its creative vibe. You’re likely to see John Cameron Mitchell, and yours truly, there.
