While reading previous reviews of Spice Market in anticipation of my trip from L.A., I was a bit concerned that perhaps the nice pictures on their website was all the place was going to be. Pretty interiors and not much more. However, from the moment we walked in (our reservations were for 10:30PM on a Thursday night) we were greeted by two beautiful and attentive hosts. We checked in, headed to the bar and were served quickly by our hot bartender. Within 15 minutes we were sitting at our table on the main floor and were greeted immediately by our very attentive waiter. I was thoroughly pleased as I expect top drawer service whenever I eat out and our waiter was at the top of his game at every available moment. We ordered several different items, however none particularly stands out as "the best". Everything we ordered was truly great and satifisfied all the senses. When it comes time to desert though, I encourage you to order the cherry sundae. Yummmmmmmmm. Overall, it was truly nice at the Spice!

Walking into the Spice Market, is quite a treat. Everywhere you look is so different and so pretty. I enjoyed eating in the downstairs, where it was more quiet. The service was amazing - every staff was so friendly and helpful. They even took our pictures! Food was quite good, I really recommend the curry chicken - it melts in your mouth! Prices were extremely reasonable and I like the concept of sharing all the foods. Would definately recommend.

Take a trip to Southeast Asia by eating at Jean-George Vongerichten’s Spice Market. The cuisine here  is inspired by regional street food combined with Vongerichten’s distinctive touch. The interiors are resplendent and definitely make you feel like you are in some exotic locale of Asia. There are decorative pagodas and arches that adorn the enormous space and a grand staircase that leads to the hopping bar area downstairs. All of this makes for a really great spot to hang out at where one is stylishly served by waiters and scantily clad waitresses, dressed in bright orange hues. The food is interesting. It’s quite a treat to be able to order up an appetizer from Thailand, a main course from Vietnam and  dessert from India, all with a Vongerichten twist on it. At first look, well, you don't know where to look first, the place takes you over, you want to see it all, and it is certainly worth seeing. As for the food, each new dish enticed our nostrils and titillated our palates. We devoured spice market with our eyes and with our mouths It was a wonderful, wonderful meal.

Spice Market definitely merits a return trip. The decor, the food and the drinks were incredible. Our favorite was the skewered beef appetizer - it literally melted in your mouth. We also loved the vegetable side dishes - the sugar snap peas with water chestnuts and shiitake mushrooms and the broccoli and baby corn. Only objection? Not enough really spicy food! Can't wait to go back.

The food was fabulous. Highly recommend if you're an Asian food fanatic. The decor is remarkable. You truly feel like you've been whisked away to another world. I went at lunch since the wait for a reservation is ridiculous. It's a great place to go for a special occasion or for drinks since the bar also has the feel of a hut in India. Except for the fact that there is plush leather. Being from Trinidad, it had a familiar old world charm that I adored. Great for special occasions.

What a terrific restaurant. Food is superb, each dish spiced expertly and with verve. Try the chicken samosas(you will leave wanting more),pork satay, vegetable curry(what a sauce), tuna tartare, any and all fish dishes. Even the desserts are good. Restaurant is beautiful, feels like you are sometwhere in Asia.Even sitting at the counter is a trip since you can watch the chefs cook. Go and enjoy.

I just got home from dinner at Spice Market, I usually come to NYMETRO.com and check reveiews from fellow diners at restaurants I plan on having dinner at. I would agree with the reviewer who said that the Chicken Samosa are delicious, they are served in a Cilantro Yogurt sauce, the Thai Fried Chicken Wings were also very good. It was an amazing experience not just for me but also my tastebuds, they were really excited with all the exciting and different flavors in the dishes. Go and try it out, you will also love it.

The decor is soothing, yet there's energy in every corner of Spice. Food is served on fresh white dinnerware. Try the black pepper shrimp or pork satay as a starter. I loved the avocado and radish salad...nice presentation too. The crispy sesame crab wtih pink grapefruit was delighful. Char grilled chicken was tender and juicy and the onion/chili crusted short ribs amazing. The waiter was helpful. A bit slow on the coffee refill, but otherwise a perfect evening. Be sure to share with your dinner companions. Taste as many dishes as possible. Save room for dessert. Just ask for extra spoons.
