After a few mishappenings in Ny during our honeymoon with my husband, our lunch in Spice Market was an apocalypse!Begining from the decoration and the atmposphere, to the polite stuff and great background lounge music, the ginger margaritas and the fantastic tasting menu, all was excellent! I would go back there definately!

Though I wouldnt go here on a regular occassion. This place was definately really cool, and i would def recommend it to anyone visiting new york. The food is superb, the decor is really cool. On the downside it is a little loud, and you have so many waiters that you dont know who to talk to nor do you get any real explanation or service on anything. Prices are a little high, but it is family style, but what do you expect, it is a JG restaurant after all. Overall I would reccommend it however.

Spice market is the place to go for a wonderful taste of Asian cusine. The staff offer helpful tips on the meals. The atmosphere is extremely friendly with chat amongst the tables. The Samosa's are by far the best in the West! For a change try the skate for a mouth watering meal. The wine list is pretty exstensive and offers lots of choice. This resturaunt is a MUST try!!!!

Well I must say I wasnt expecting the service, atmosphere and decor to be so friggin' wonderfully GOOD. From the person KIM who answered the phone and spoke in such a professional and warming matter, to the people at the door who greet you with a BIG smile.this place rocks and will go far. The bartender (luka??? niko?)downstairs was so wonderful. I had stopped in for a quick drink and bite after work and this place fit in so well. TRY the lobster rolls (perfectly fresh mmmmm) and the Spicy pepper shrimp ( I was very very impressed). I actually stayed a little later than normal, meeting people outside in 'smokers-corner'. LOVED the music, and the vibe, just warm fun, clean. (AND to the NEGATIVE-FOLKS who sat beside me at the downstairs bar complaining about everything, SHUT THE F**K UP.....go somewhere else, this place was tres cool and fun)! ONE thing: GET A PATIO:) I will be back for sure, and would recommend it for a date, a group of friends or a quick bite. SPICE MARKET ROCKS!! You have a BIG fan:) Annie:)

In the middle of the Meatpacking District, the Spice Market captures all the senses that one experiences in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. The overwhelming intoxication of flavors, odors, textures and light provides for a most satisfying expereince. Wonderful menu, food, preparation, service and ambience.

you step into another world.......something to take in wherever you walk or look.....no detail overlooked from the staff, to the way I watched how a table was set, to every design element, no matter where you looked. it takes you in instantly and envelopes you............we had several appetizers including shaved tuna with thin slices of Asian pears in a cool sauce, the mushroom eggrolls in a distinctive green sauce (all of the sauces were distinctive...a touch a spice, a hint of sweet.all unto themselves and the selections they were served with.......none overwhelming the others)........and a portion of chicken in a warm peanut sauce presented on a mini-mini grill with a hot stone to keep it warm.........perhaps first among equals of the really great New York spots

Drinks are amazing and creative, with ginger margaritas and specialty mojitos, with blood oranges. While the drinks are a little pricy I found the food very reasonable and incredible. Highly recommend the bbq skate, halibut, ginger fried rice, and grilled chicken with kumquats, the soups were also terrific (chicken soup in coconut broth). Overall it is a scene, but one where they manage to maintain the pretentiousness even with an overwhelmingly attractive staff and bar patrons.

Fantastic decor and ambiance. You just feel the right vibe when entering this place. Tried 4 different appetizers:The spring rolls were just perfect, Mussels like a dream, the fried hot chicken wings just awsome and the Samosas were just spot on!! Great timing between the dishes. Onto the etnrees: Pork Vindaloo was just a explosion of burning flavours, Duck was so refreshing and perfect, Striped bass (if i remember it right) with sweet basil and chili was truly incredible. All in all a top notch place with a world class kitchen and service. Truly impressed!!
