Very tasty burgers. Classic preferable over Stand. Crispy golden fries. Small more than enough for two! Mayo on the table: great for fellow Europeans! Super beer selection. Friendly but too few waiters. Host: lowpoint. Definitely one of the best burger places in Manhattan!

"Classic" burger was bland bland bland - the beef tasted as though it had water in it, the fries had been sitting out, food arrived tepid rather than warm. Staff is friendly but service is truly awful - waited 10 mins for drinks, 30 mins before we got our burgers. And the Men's room had no hand soap - a health code violation. Go to Good Burger on Broadway & 16th Street instead.

I recently discovered this place the other day, hidden down the street on 12th. When I came in and sat at the bar, I found out it had been there for a good six months and I had never seen it even though I walk by every day. I see people's cheif complaints are that the service was horrible. I never experienced any of this probably because I usually sit at the bar. All the bartenders I have talked to have been overwhelmingly nice and fun to talk to. The bar itself isn't very stocked, but they use old-fashioned spigot-bottle seltzer water for their mixed drinks and it gives it a flair of quality that their wonderful burgers reflect. They also have a good selection of beers on tap, in a very discreet unnamed row along the wall, leading you to wonder how they ever remember which ones are which. And they are creative. One night, I simply asked the bartender to make me drinks I had never had before, and he smiling obliged and made me three delicious drinks that were purely original. I would reccomend this place for defo.

This place has a great space, what I tried of the food was just ok a bit bland, but the thing that dissapointed it all was the absolutley terrible service. Nothing absolutley nothing came out right...not even the drink, then I was given all this attitude and drama that it was all my fault! Will never go back by time the food came (still not what I wanted but I gave in for fear of more drama) I was not in the mood to eat!

While the food has improved in the time that this establishment opened its doors, the service has plummeted beyond hope. It's a pity that the tasty fare in this clean, noisy and open space is spoiled so much by an unapologetically surly, unkempt, and utterly uncaring staff, from the moment you walk in to the moment you pay the relatively hefty check and leave. Perhaps this presentation to some translates as hip or cool, but many of us still believe that service is just as important to the visit as the food. Do not go expecting to feel welcome; read the menu thoroughly to understand the local lexicon (as it will not be explained to you in any detail); and any misunderstandings with your order are your fault...not theirs (and with much eye-rolling, they will go to lengths explaining why it's your fault, stupid customer). Nice space, interesting food...definitely not worth the attitude. Too many other far better choices in this neighborhood!

I was craving a burger and fries and my friend suggested i check this place out. I was expecting something along the lines of Johnny Rockets and was happy to find out that it was nothing like Rockets, in a good way. The burgers are done to MR unless you ask otherwise.....which is how i like my burger. I stuck with my plan and ordered a small side of fries which ended up being enough for two people -- no complaints here! The service was ok....took a few minutes before someone came to my table but the food came out very fast which was great considering i was there for lunch. I would definitely go back....

on my first and definitely last trip to stand, we ordered the mushroom burger, fries, onion rings, and a milkshake (which all came out at the same time). the onion rings were literally inedible (layers of grease), the fries were decent, but they were only served with "homeade" ketchup (aka vinegar), and the milkshake couldn't be consumed through the miniature pretentious straw they gave us. although the waitress was nice and the burger was decent, the overall experience was really not good, and it was wayy overpriced.
