I love this place! I live across the street and go here very often - never had a bad dish or cocktail in the several dozen times I've been. If you like spicey margaritas, they make a truly superb one - a really good blood orange margarita with jalapeno infused tequila. If tequila isn't your preferred poison, their other drinks are also delicious. As for the food, the French Onion Soup Dumplings are quite unique and rather tasty - definitely have a try! Equally creative and delicious, the Stone-Ground Blue Corn Crabcake Corn Dogs also satisfy a curious palate. But if there's one dish that's a must, the Kobe Beef Sliders are a clear crowd pleaser, especially if you're there mainly to socialize than to eat (ie you're seated upstairs in, what believe, is the perfect embodiment of what a lounge should look like) - they are little succulent 'beef clouds' of heavan!

The Special Events Manager was nasty and unhelpful when I tried to book a table for 10 people. This place is so over - and over-rated. I discourage anyone to go!

Stanton Social: a place dripping with superlatives to cover for its mediocrity and haute lack-of-culture. I think that each night, the entire staff gets psyched up with: "OK everyone, remember, we are HIP and COOL. And let's not let our diners forget it." Because this is the general attitude of the supremely rude staff. Sadly, most of the patrons seem to believe this, and will spend the rest of their night hoping they are now cool because they went to Stanton Social. A barf bag with your kobe beef sliders? Which brings me to the food and drinks: tasty and satisfying, but not incredible. Expensive, but not outrageous. Decor is . . . not offensive. Music may cause your ears to bleed after prolonged exposure. So, how does mediocre food and drink, almost the worst service and staff I've ever encountered, and a clientele that screams "please let me be cool because I hang out here" make Stanton Social so"special"? I don't understand. But I also didn't understand how the emperor's outfit got such rave reviews.

It's not the portions that are the problem. Or the prices. It's the food. If the food was cooked properly, this place would be quite fun. The menu has lots of interesting dishes and it's a great idea to make everything sharable small plates. However, nothing was cooked right. The chipotle shrimp would have been great, had they not been overcooked by about 30 mins. I asked the waitress if we could get some less well done, and she said we should order something else - that's how they usually come out. The stone crab corn dogs were a mushy mess, no crispiness. Their kitchen is in mass production mode and it shows.

This restaurant - albeit hip - has the rudest staff I have ever encountered in New York City (which, hopefully, says a lot). Their entitled and disrespectful attitude upset my date and I so much that we just got up and left. I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. While Stanton Social may be what many consider "trendy" - the staffs lack of class would turn anyones stomach.

So I was surprised by the amount of mediocre reviews there were for stanton social...i've been twice, once with a group and once with my boyfriend, and both times, not only did i vowe to come back, but i didn't want to leave. The beauty of this restaruant is the variety and quality of its cuisine. As much as I wanted to order the kobe philly's for the second time on my most recent visit, we decided not to repeat any dishes and were deliciously elated by our new discovereies. The brie & apple quesadillas, topped with pieces of pancetta, are melt -in-your-mouth, perfection (and i don't even like bacon). And the pricing is moderate...leave out drinks and it's pretty much a steal! I will definitely be returning and I'm certain that I will once again discover something else on the menu that will leave me salivating. where else can you enjoy top rate food/decor, in this city's finest neighborhood, while eating with your hands??

We went with a large group and got seated in the lounge--rang up a tab of a couple of thousand dollars of wine, cocktails and half the menu--and while the waitress was lovely, the rude hostess ruined the evening by saying that we were taking up too much room-- after they had seated us themselves!. There are bouncers hovering over you telling you not to stand up--sorry but some of us have to use the rest rooms -- and really, who wants bouncers breathing down your necks while you're eating? The entire evening was ruined because of the horrible service. I would never waste money here again--and hope no one else does either. Probably ok if you are a tourist-- cause its very sex and the city-like. But this place has passed its prime, just like Sarah Jessica Parker.

Nice place to go, cool drinks, the staff were not so attentive but the sliders and spicy lobster pasta are great. A good place to meet up with friends. Tastes $$$$+ but is only $$-$$$.

Worth it if you are someone who values a cool setting, creative food and who likes to sample. The problem is you get virtually nothing for your money here. Plan on every bite costing you $2 or so...literally. The food, however, is tasty and creative, especially the crab-cake corn dogs and the french onion soup dumplings. You could make the doughnuts in your own kitchen though, so I don't know what all the hype is about those. Good service and attention to detail might make me want to pay for overpriced food, but as others have said, that's missing here in a big way. Go once to try it out if you've got some money to blow but I think you'll leave thinking it would be better spent elsewhere.
