great time at "Strip Steak"

Just returned from dinner at "Strip Steak" . It was a perfect evening. The place was full. The energy was fantastic. The food was delicious. We enjoyed perfectly prepared filet mignon, creamed corn, creamy mashed potatoes and baked alaska. It was expensive, but well worth it. Would definitely visit again.

I love this restaurant! I was in a few days ago with some important clients. I felt relieved with the friendly staff and the delicious food from the appetizers to the desserts! I recommend the chocolate cake- if you have a large enough appetite! Thank you to everyone at the Strip House - for making me look good in front of these important clients! This restaurant is magnificently run!

I was recommended to eat here on our last night in New York before my family and I came back home to the UK. I was a bit concerned by the negative reviews on the service and working in the trade I'm pretty unforgiving about poor service and stuck-up staff. Happily the service was bordering on perfect; just the right balance of being friendly, welcoming and professional. The bread, steaks, herb fries and the 24 layer chocolate cake were all stars, my daughter was even showing her friends pictures of the cake as soon as we got home! All they need to do now is simplify some of the food and let the flavours speak for themselves. A super evening, thanks!

I love steak and the Striphouse did not disappoint. The waitstaff was very friendly. We were seated immediately. The bar had my favorite Scotch. Menu was expensive, but well worth it. I had the 20oz strip and my guest had the special of the evening, a bone-in filet, which was fantastic. I've never had anything so tender in all my life. We also enjoyed the black truffle creamed spinach and the goose fat potatoes. A wonderfull evening and a fantastic meal. I will be going back.

I thought I would ignore all the bad reviews about the Strip House and experience it for myself, what a DISASTER. The booking was for myself and 5 other business clients. Once we were shown to our cramp table & served our drinks the waiter lost balance of the tray & a whole bottle of cola was spilt down the back of one of my guests. Two people had to send their steak back twice and in the end they gave up and did not eat at all. When we asked for the bill the manager ANDREW BARNETT came over and stated he was not going to charge for the two steaks not eaten, the soft drinks & 1 of the appetizers. He refused to pay for the dry cleaning or make any kind of good will gesture to my wet & sticky guest. RUDE, BAD MANGEMENT, SAVE YOURSELF A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

Honestly save your money..Waited a while by the bar after booking. Tables were cramped together waiter service overpowering by far and the food was nothing to write home about..We forgot to put a tip in with the payment and the head waiter asked us infront of everyone dont you intened to leave a tip i explaned that i thought it was in with the payment and give him$25 he looked me up and down and exclaimed IS THAT IT..HONESTLY

Nasty, confrontational service

When I asked the waiter if I could have my steak pink-- he became confrontational and arrogant and replied "we do not do medium plus". Really -- there are so many great restaurants in New York that are service oriented and serve good food. Save your self the money--- go elsewhere.

Great place to go out for perfect steak and have relaxed and fun conversation. We ordered 3 steaks for four of us and different sides. Steaks were delicious, we could not have enough, wine was great and we had fantastic time. Of all sides, I was most impressed with the mushrooms, although they all were fantabulous. Service was excellent, waiter had everything under control and we did not lack anything. I am looking to return there with my friends and dates.

They don't serve steak, they serve NY Strip

If you go here and don't order a Strip Steak (see restaurant name for a hint), you messed up. To me it's this simple: they serve the best NY Strip Steak in the city. You wouldn't go to Lugers for chicken - don't come here for anything but the Strip; there are plenty of other places to get sirloins, porterhouses and rib eyes. One important note: They season quite liberally with cracked black pepper and coarse salt. The only dinner companion that didn't agree with my "best of" assessment doesn't like black pepper - it's absolutely an element of the dish. Final recommendation: goose fat potatoes.

forget peter lugers this is the best steak in NYC and the sides blow away all the other steak houses. I've tried them all and this is my fav....
