Why so few reviews?

Three foodie tourists chose the original Strip House based on reading reviews of NYC steakhouses. Incredible crispy juicy steaks, delicious sides, huge desserts. Amazing history in the photos all over the walls. Only problem was we were on a table nearer the bar, where there are no tablecloths - plates sliding around while cutting up steaks. I was surprised that the goose fat potatoes were a bowl shaped lump of deep fried mash. But i guess that would be lower fat than chunks of potato fried in goose fat. Tasted delicious. It doesn't aspire to get michelin stars, but what steaks? For us, Strip House is our new steak benchmark.
Quality of the food not worth the price

I used to love this place. But the quality of the food has really fallen off. Your money is better spent elsewhere. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood I like to have a drink at the bar but they make it very difficult to just get a snack. It's really too bad. I had the worst time trying to find something on the menu I wanted to eat. And when I ordered the fish it came out completely overcooked and room temperature. My friend got the truffle macaroni and cheese, as we were just looking for something small. So not worth the price. And truffle oil. Really? I have eaten here many times and have ordered the steak, a NY Strip and was so disappointed I never want to have steak there again. The bottom line is there are just so many places to get a good steak in NY I don't see how this place can stay in business much longer.
Get the 20 oz Steak, Skip the Scallops

If you are wondering about ordering the 20 oz stripsteak vs the 16 oz strip, donÂ´t. The 20 oz is definitely the way to go. Warning...skip the $17 scallop appetizer. You get TWO( !!!!) normal, fairly large sized scallops. We shared this app and the restaurant placed one scallop on a plate for each of us. I couldnÂ´t stop laughing until I realized that I paid over $10 (including tax and tip) for the one measly scallop on my plate. That I will never forget. Service was excellent and we were not rushed.
Even if I get paid.. never go back

First and last of all, service sucks. Sucks, the worst ever in my entire life in NYC of 13 years. Tried most of "fancy" "hot" restaurants in NYC, ok, bar is packed, somewhat classy, good location, something to check out I thought. My friends were not too hungry, so decided to share bigger sized steak, they split it to two, served in two plates, things seemed to be ok.. until the size of the steak was super small (It wasn't HALF of what the steak itself would be) we politely asked, because it was obvious, just saying "each portion looks too small". Floor manager, almost laughed "U guys SHARING steak?" you get the message? He wanted to get away with it, by trying to make us feel bad...(?) about sharing steak, who cares? We were 4, ordered 3 main courses, is it THAT funny? He kept being SOO rude, over "why are you sharing" to "well, if you want bigger piece, you should order another", to "don't know what you want me to do". SO we asked for Manager, he apologized, but the rude guy never did. He, white mid thirty, shorty was the reason we all left, without eating anything, after waiting 30 minutes to get a table. Oh btw, yes we did have reseravtion. Conclusion: Rude restaurant like this, should not survive in NYC. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE where they serve great steak, with great service.
Go some where else

Went there with a group of six and everyone (4) who order a steak dish agreed it taste like rubber. The crab cakes were terrible as an appetitizer and the service was lacking. Forget about resrvations waited 45 minutes to table (8:30 Reservation seated at 9:15).
Not the Best Steaks, But OK

The good news first: Strip House was good. The bad news: Strip House was good... and that's it. For a place bent on satisfying hungry carnivores, Strip House comes up shamefully short. The interior is fun...but also a bit cheap looking. In fact, the entire vibe is cheap--and way way overpriced for the value. I ordered the strip steak. It was cooked all right, but the meat was a bit rubbery and--I dunno--not organic, grass-fed? Maybe there is something to that whole thing. My co-pilot ordered the filet and it was way overcooked. Bottom line: for $45 steaks, go somewhere else.
great time at "Strip Steak"

Just returned from dinner at "Strip Steak" . It was a perfect evening. The place was full. The energy was fantastic. The food was delicious. We enjoyed perfectly prepared filet mignon, creamed corn, creamy mashed potatoes and baked alaska. It was expensive, but well worth it. Would definitely visit again.

I love this restaurant! I was in a few days ago with some important clients. I felt relieved with the friendly staff and the delicious food from the appetizers to the desserts! I recommend the chocolate cake- if you have a large enough appetite! Thank you to everyone at the Strip House - for making me look good in front of these important clients! This restaurant is magnificently run!

I was recommended to eat here on our last night in New York before my family and I came back home to the UK. I was a bit concerned by the negative reviews on the service and working in the trade I'm pretty unforgiving about poor service and stuck-up staff. Happily the service was bordering on perfect; just the right balance of being friendly, welcoming and professional. The bread, steaks, herb fries and the 24 layer chocolate cake were all stars, my daughter was even showing her friends pictures of the cake as soon as we got home! All they need to do now is simplify some of the food and let the flavours speak for themselves. A super evening, thanks!
A Religous Experience

I love steak and the Striphouse did not disappoint. The waitstaff was very friendly. We were seated immediately. The bar had my favorite Scotch. Menu was expensive, but well worth it. I had the 20oz strip and my guest had the special of the evening, a bone-in filet, which was fantastic. I've never had anything so tender in all my life. We also enjoyed the black truffle creamed spinach and the goose fat potatoes. A wonderfull evening and a fantastic meal. I will be going back.
