After a non-threatening complaint that my pork tacos were inedibly spicy (and should be removed from the bill), the chef marched over to my table to berate me and remind me that I should have taken the waiter's suggestion to drown the food in sour cream. Not ideal. Skip this place - lots of better Mexican in this town, thankfully.

Tacos for thirty five dollars?!!! Tacos are not the food for Kings and Queens but Sue Torres sure charges that way. There are simply too many good restaurants in NYC to throw your money away on this place. I paid nearly thirteen dollars for a cocktail and dinner came to over a hundred, at a Mexican restaurant. It would be one thing if the food was not what you would see on the streets of Mexico but it is - if you are in the Chelsea area and want Mexican go to Rosa Mexicana.

I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants in New York and this is by far the best. As soon as we sat down we got a complimentary plate of pan-fried corn bread and black bean dip and it was fantastic. Everything we ordered was excellent too. I had a grilled shrimp entree that was served with guacamole and sweet plantains and my husband had a steak. I want to go back and try more of the menu soon.

We went to Suenos on a Friday night and looking forward to it for months. When seated we learned that we had to eat on paper plates due to a water problem. The waiter was rude, and the food was gross! My grilled shrimp were cold, and we were so turned off we didn't even finish our meals before asking for the check. We were told we would get a 10% discount, but that never happened but we just wanted to leave as fast as possible we didn't even care. This is NY Suenos rent plates for the night and have someone else do the dishes. I had high expectations for this place, and I was sorry I spent money at this resturant. Chef Sue hopefully you will learn to close for the night instead of using paper plates.

The food at Suenos is delicious. We have tasted most of the menu and have not found a dish that was not fantastic. Sometimes we order several apetizers to enjoy the variety of flavors. Sue Torres creates dishes with wonderful blends of spices and chilis. We have hosted groups of ten people and everyone raved about the food and the drinks.

After all the good reviews I've read, I was excited to eat at Suenos. The guacamole was okay with no kick at all. My chorizo potato quesadilla was saggy and oily. With their haute prices, you are better off eating at Rosa Mexicana or Dos Caminos.

This may very well be the best food I have ever tasted. It is fresh and wonderful.. My mouth waters whenever I day-sueno, about the place...could not have been a better experience. I will be back. And you should go there, now.

Suenos is located in a unique location (very New York) The off street side alley entrance is like walking to a hidden Speakeasy. The food however is a different story, it’s quite good but nothing special. Lucy’s Mexican BBQ, Los Dos Molinos and Rosa Mexicana has Suenos beat hands down when it comes real seasoned flavor. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good but not great. (A+ for effort B for over all delivery). Would I go back? Sure, nice over all experience. Scott

...I still dream of Suenos. Wow, the food, wow! - is what we kept saying dish after dish. From the goat cheese empanadas to the pork tamale (incredible!!) and chile rubbed goat entrees to the gauva and cream cheese emapandas we had for dessert, we were absolutely delighted. If Sue Torres stays in the kitchen we will back again and again. Smoking margaritas are v. good too.
