Good Food, Lousy Hostess

The food is great (and there is little selection for Latin inspired food in Tribeca) so we are willing to put up the slightly high prices. We have been a fan since they opened and eat there about once a week (obviously Tribeca locals). We also order delivery about once a week. But after tonight, we are over the delivery because the hostess was so insulting. Occasionally, they forget one or two items, but if you call, they have always been very sweet about it. They deliver the missing items very quickly. Tonight however, they forgot several crucial things and the hostess that took the order was a nasty piece of work. Seems the screw up tonight was her fault and she refused to remedy the situation without twenty minutes of discussion - first on how it was the delivery person's fault (he delivers to us regularly and is ALWAYS prompt and courteous) and then she informed me that customers are too stupid to know what they are ordering. It took her almost an hour to send us the missing items and she basically told us that if we didn't like it - Super Linda doesn't need our business. No problem, Shemica, we can go elsewhere. BTW, Shemica, I'm 100% positive the owners do not appreciate you turning away regular customers or blaming long time employees for your inadequacies. Good luck at your next job.

Should have read these reviews first before relying on a misguided Travel & Leisure endorsement. This was a HUGE let-down and an overall bizarre experience! After arriving for brunch on a Sunday without a reservation, we were promptly seated at a table and summarily forgotten about. The waitstaff: confused, inexperienced and inattentive. 15 minutes after being seated, we attempted to order guacamole to start, only to be to be told (at 1:30pm mind you) that they were OUT of guacamole. Really? Then, our cocktails (mimosa and a bloody mary) arrived 30 minutes after they were ordered. Finally, after waiting what quite literally was 1 hour for huevos rancheros (which, based on the wait time, I can only assume were being made in Mexico), we did the unthinkable -- and left. The highlight of the trip: going around the corner for a bagel and lox at Zucker's (which IS highly recommended). Our loss will hopefully be your gain.

Aside from the hostess, the bar and waitress seem to have little to no experience with customer service, what so ever. When we sat down, the waitress took a long time asking for our drink order, eventhough we were the only couple in the restaurant aside from one other. (I could have easily had 2 drinks before dinner instead of 1.) When asked about drink recommendations, she had little to suggest. I ordered a basic margarita, but I happen to like mine made with Cointreau. (An old habit.) The restaurant was OUT of any Couintreau or Triple Sec!!! (Not her fault, I know, but thought I'd add that!) Ordered a different drink of their Specials list, that I really didn't like and was 16$, mostly ice. My wife asked her about the steak tacos and she said, "um.... I don't know. I haven't worked her long." Ok. She may have been on the new side, but if we are taking time out of our week to go out to a nice dinner and spend a seemingly large amount of money, we would still expect good service. Do they not bother to train their staff here? I ordered the branzino entree. The fish was fine but the tomato/pepper salsa was so oily it left my mouth with a film- totally inedible. My wife had the steak tacos, which were actually pretty good. They came as 3 small tacos to entree. We split a guacamole, which had some nice flavor. Bottom line, looking for a nice neighborhood Latin place to dine- and once again, left disappointed.

This is really inferior! And it's expensive, too! The music is bad and loud. The food is boring and less than so-so. The waitress was disconnected to what she was supposed to do - like serve the customer. Don't bother going here. It's a waste on so many levels.

As we live in Tribeca, we were excited about the new latin-inspired restaurant. We stopped in for a drink on memorial day. Being the only ones at the bar, you'd think we would have excellent attention paid to us. Wrong. The seemingly new and inexperienced bar tenders were unhelpful with suggestions. My partner ordered a mojito that tasted like water. (The bar tender didn't realize that the mint needed to be muddled.) She had him remake it, which he did. Wasn't much better. We decided to go elsewhere, and left with a bad taste in our mouths as well as a 16$ debt from an overpriced and horrible drink. Do not go.

Lost In Translation

According to my rusty high school spanish, "Linda" means nice or lovely. My recent visit to Super Linda was neither. Upon entry, the hostess pulled the, "we don't have your table ready" trick and then made my friend and I order a drink from the slow bar. If you have this same issue, I suggest you go across the street to Ward III as the drinks were not worth the money. 45 minutes later, we still were not seated even though we had a confirmed dinner reservation. We left and had a great meal at a nearby restaurant with great service. I wish I had the patience to give you a review of the food, but if you can't seat a confirmed reservation within 15 minutes of an on-time arrival, I don't care how good your food may be. Btw, I have nothing against Matt Abramcyk. Smith & Mills and Warren 77 are both fantastic.
