Based off of a critics pick here on NY Mag we checked out Superfine for Sunday Brunch. We headed over around 2ish and we were seated and greeted immediately. I had the Fish Taco's with a Stella.. I can not say enough how delicious the Fish Taco was. Plus we were treated to live bluegrass music. Can it get any better?

I love this place, I think it is a gem in the growing area of DUMBO. I have been several times and I have never had a bad experience. They change the menu regularly, food is good, you can snag a Heineken for $4 and the decor and ambiance are pretty inviting. It is definitely not the fanciest place, but it is a great place to hang on a weekend or unwind afterwork (which is why I went...on a Thursday). I do wish they gave individual menus - they have a easel that they prop on the chair with the menu items. Overall, it is a great place to have in the favorites of your iPhone - you cannot go wrong with this joint...

This place lives in infamy amongst my friends. We have renamed it Super Sucks. I have never waited so long for food. It got so bad that the people below us, who were there for a birthday dinner, started eating the cake they brought because they were so hungry and they sent a piece up to us, which we fought over like animals.... When we finally got our food and we asked what the problem was, the waitress (who was for some unexplained reason wearing a Fez) told us that there wasn't any problem. I mean seriously it was like 90 minutes. No apology, nothing. Its not like we ordered Peking Duck or some special souffle - it was pasta and burgers.

although there food was fresh and Delicious, the services was incredibly horrid. the bartenders were bitchy and rude. they couldn't even make proper mojitos. they even tried to overcharge us on things that we order such as the beer which is 6 dollars and they charged us 8 and the drinks that were 10 they charged us 11. this was my second time there and my last.

I just moved into the neighborhood and finally got to try Superfine for the first time. I have been looking forward to going for quite some time despite the mixed reviews on this site. We went for Sunday brunch (called and made a reservation for noon at 11 am) and had a fantastic all around experience. A local Brooklyn band was playing some old timey music and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. Service was fantastic and attentive yet relaxed at the same time. The kitchen was visible from my table, which I always consider a plus, and the food was delicious. I had the pancakes of the day and my girlfriend had the special omelet. We loved them both and definitely plan on coming back. People were playing pool while waiting for a table, and the bar was full of reservation-less brunch goers. Cannot wait to go back.

Oh, the tyranny of popular reviews. I don't understand how people could have had such negative experiences at Superfine. Maybe their experiences with "rude" wait staff and "bad" food is more a reflection of their own attitudes and expectations. We had nothing but great experiences at the restaurant. And we have gone there many, many times. We even come all the way to dumbo just to have brunch or dinner at Superfine. We just like the ambiance, the food, the accommodating staff, the live music - all in all a well-rounded experience. I recommend it.

Slow service? Hipster servers? What's wrong will all of you!?! Listen, if you want ultra efficient service and a wait staff dressed in white and black, take your ass back to snooze inducing UES/NJ/LI/Wall Street. If you're down for a restaurant that has a soul, isn't cookie cutter and has amazing food, then chill out and enjoy Superfine. I went last Saturday night, took my time and had the most amazing orecchiette alla Norma of my life! Plus, the bartenders were hot!!!

I don't understand exactly what everyone's talking about when they say that the people at Superfine are rude. Maybe these reviewers are non-native New Yorkers, but the servers and hosts/hostesses at Superfine are nothing out of the ordinary attitude-wise. They're not particularly rude, nor do they fawn all over you. You go here for the very reasonably priced food, the excellent drinks, the DJ, and, if you live in DUMBO, the convenience. These aspects of the restaurant will not disappoint. As for the service, what do you expect? It's Brooklyn.

With their astoundingly surly table service, bland yet overpriced food, decor that takes me back to the late 90's and brings to mind adjectives like "funky" and "alternative", it's lucky for them that Superfine has such a captive local audience (being one of the very few places to get brunch or even sit-down food of any sort in Dumbo).

I was there last week and had the most juicy and tastiest pork chop dinner! I live in Manhattan, but go to DUMBO as much as I can for that arts-community feel (which is now threatened with extinction with all the new development there). That is why Superfine is so special. The decor and regular art shows promote a creative crowd and I've met some nice and interesting people. There is a trunk full of toys for patrons with children, and they have an ecclectic mix of live music. Friday and Saturday nights tend to get too crowded for my taste though and I avoid those nights. It's a fun lively place to be for any age.
