$26 for a spider roll (warm and a little over fried) and a spicy tuna avocado hand roll with about a table spoon of tuna and a sliver of avocado and one scoop of rice I would have been better off going to McDonalds for the fish sandwich value meal. I got it Togo and it all fit in a small tin and not even half full. Monster sushi on Hudson I used to get the Cherishi for $19 and they used to serve me 5 slices of white tuna, 5 slices of salmon, 5 slices of maguro and 5 slices of yellow tail, soup and drink, miss that place and made this place look that much less appealing

Sushi was amazing but served too fast. $80 omikase only had sashimi and about 10 sushi. For $75 at Jewel Bako, we got 5 appetizers, sashimi, about 16 sushi & dessert. Far better & well paced.

Have returned to this gem several times and delighted in sampling their mouthwatering tidbits.The taste tested sushi creations have been consistently superior and absolutely on par with last night's repeat sampling at Sushi of Gari.Seki outdid Gari's Shumai, while Gari salads led Seki by a nose.The various handrolls of fried oyster, salmon skin, and eel were an edge ahead by Seki,and the respective sake choices delightful. Seki isn't very big and neighborhooders want to keep it for themselves, leaving the surrounding five other sushi houses to others.

If you go here and sit at the sushi bar and let the chefs work their magic, you will be amazed. It will be expensive, but it is the best sushi in the city. Seki is a master. The atmosphere is horrible, and the price is steep, but if you are splurging and care only about the food (again, the atmosphere is a disaster and the neighborhood is, um, remote), then you should come here.

Very unassuming and comfortable ambience, family-friendly yet sophisticated. Very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Sushi was exceptional, always try the japanese mackerel and, if fresh, oysters(they will tell you). The fine touches on very quality cuts of toro make them memorable. And yes, the jalapeno-crowned nigiri are delightful! The sake menu by itself should permanently tattoo Sushi Seki on your short list.
