The sushi is great. The ambience fantastic. It may not be as "trendy" as it was at one time, but it is still a great place to eat. Their cocktails rock! Try their new Samba Juice, made with Amazon Mania acai (www.amazon-mania.com). Absolutely delicious!

Even by New York standards this place sounds like a cafeteria in a middle school. I've gone to samba twice. The service was so-so the first time I had an excellent server the second, was the bride of chucky! Any how, I go back for the LOBSTER MISO SOUP! It is soooo good. I haven't tried the park av location. Hopefully the drinks won't be as watered down. If not for the soup. I wouldn't return. I had the tasting menu and had the worst sushi EVER! paid $56 ???

The sashimi and sushi are so delicious and literally melts in your mouth. The blue fin toro, spanish mackerel and yellowtail with jalapeno are stellar. Great atmosphere and cocktails. A bit crowded though, even on a tuesday, so it's tough to get a table, but you can eat the sushi bar or in the lounge. I can't say enough superlatives about the sushi...AWESOME!

The one on Park ave is impressive in decor & food eventhough very tiny space. Drinks are very good too. Especially Mojito. 7th ave is very disappointing & quality of food & drinks are not the same. 7th ave is also too huge eventhough outside dining is a big plus.

Samba is still New York's Hottest Restaurant. There is no other place that you can impress and have a great time with your family, date, clients, or buddies. Drinks are original, food is high quality and fun. Pricey but worth it. Highly recommended.

Came out here for the weekend from Los Angeles. Heard about Sushi-Samba so had to check it out. Was impressed with food, decor and great service. Unfortunately, we don't have a Sushi-Samba in L.A. just yet. Although the portions were half as what you would expect with the price you pay, everything else makes up for it. Host said we would be waiting 45 minutes for a table, got one in 20 minutes. Great spot. A must place to check out.....

Oy, I went there recently for the 1st time when my out-of-town relative insisted that we go there. Well, that tells you the story. It was packed, but they were all tourists, talking the pictures of everything everyone is doing! Every woman there is dressed like Sarah Jessica Parker from "Sex and the City" TWO SEASONS AGO, and they act the way they *think* NYC women act--slutty and loud. The guys? Well, I am pretty sure they looked like that because of the long drive in their 1976 Camaros into Manhattan from Staten Island. Nevertheless, the food was good and the service was actually great. So, if you have a relative visiting from the Midwest, why not take them? I am sure they'll be impressed.

On Tuesday 07/08/03 I and my friend went to this restaurant.Befour that day I'd been there a lot of time. My friend was with a broken lag after car accident. I asked peopel, who worked there at the door and give clients tabels, to give one chair for my friend untill we got a tabel. They ignored me. After 20 minets I asked them again but they started to be inpolite. So there are excellent food but servis is not so good. My friend and me decided not to go to this restaurant again.

From the time I walked in the door until the time I walked back to the door, I felt like I escaped New York and darted to the tropics. Even though its winter, the roofdeck gives you the feeling of being on vacation. The crowd is great, and as always the food is impeccable!
