We made a reservation and showed up on time. We then waited over an hour for our table. Wasted money on 2 rounds of average drinks. Then they seated us at first near the bus boy station/bathroom upstairs - and gave us attitude when we asked to get a better table. Their their service is awful and the wait is not worth it! Terrible attitude from everyone we dealt with - as if we were the lucky ones to have the privilege of eating there. The food is nowhere near as good as the sushi place we get takeout from in chelsea near our condo.

I'd been to Sushi Samba a few times and enjoyed their interesting rolls and drinks. The atmosphere is social and busy so I thought it'd be suitable for a party of seven on a Tuesday night. What a mistake. I called early in the day to make a reservation. My party arrived on time yet we weren't seated for another forty-five minutes. The hostess tried to calm our frustrations by sending someone to take our drink orders while we waited to no avail. We ended up ordering our drinks from her directly after finally putting my foot down about the way we were being served a half hour after we arrived for our 8:30 reservation. We were finally served our drinks fifteen minutes after being seated! I'd love to know how they function on a weekend--it was a Tuesday! Anyway, the hostess turned out to be rude and unaccomodating. Our waitress confused our order. In short, the poor service reviews here ring true and I should have taken them seriously! Creative food, creative service. If you can get it. It's embarrasing, I used to recommend Sushi Samba to friends and colleagues...
