On To The Next One..
By JulieNYC on 4/3/2010
Next time I want to pay alot of money for slightly below average dessert I'll go to a restaurant that can at least pretend they can tolerate having me there. **Here's a tip Sweetiepie: Your "too cool for school" attitude needs a makeover. **Tip for NYMag Readers: if you do for some bizarre reason end up there... make sure you pay close attention to the bill. Our waitress tried to over charge us not once, but twice!
Beware Food Allergy Individuals
By aliangel74 on 3/31/2010
Reading these reviews, I'm curious if the manager/owner had a "you know what" up her "you know what" recently. We were treated horribly. I have a nut allergy, and they were downright nasty in accommodating me. I should not feel guilty for having a serious health ailment. In fact, you should be eager to help me. All in all, because of their behavior, I was nervous to eat half of the food served. In addition, while I was there, there was a bridal shower occurring. By the end of their stay at Sweetiepie, the maid of honor was literally in tears. My heart broke for that poor group. That is a horrible way to remember your bridal shower, and the management should have absolutely done more to make their experience memorable.

I forgot to mention that my mother uses a cane. Just awful!!
If looks could kill...

I met my family at this restaurant to celebrate my son's work promotion. Because we come from all over Manhattan, one of us was bound to run late. The owner not only looked at us like we were trash, but refused to let us sit at our table AND REFUSED TO LET MY 74 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAVE A SEAT AT THE BAR! When I tried to get my mother a seat this woman had the nerve to kick us out. Hey, bitter-about-your-life owner woman, maybe it's a bad idea to announce your ownership of this joint if you can't show basic human decency. We left immediately and will NEVER go back again.
Save your Money

Well where can I start…. I was there on Sunday afternoon for a Tea Party and can we say RIP OFF!!! If you would like to go somewhere in the Village to get ripped off please go here. The service was very bad and slow. The Owner of the place was running around and wanted nothing to do with her paying customers. The place is so small there isn’t any room to move and you are sitting on the next table over. No One seems to have a clue what is going on. All the servers do is run around and look busy. If you ask for something you are NOT going to get it. Also the person who handles contracts is not there on weekend so if something isn’t right you have to fight to get it fixed. ***PLEASE DON’T GO HERE*** not even to try it!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!

In short, go to Sweetiepie if you want to pay for overpriced bad food, serious attitude from management, and a creepy setting.
Ruined my Daughter's 8th Birthday
By JasminDay on 3/30/2010
My daughter had her 8th birthday party here... it was probably the WORST decision we've ever made. The owner and her exaggerated self importance was enough to turn me off the second I walked in. She was pretentious and demeaning. Even my 8 year old daughter picked up on it! Unfortunately I couldn't relocate the group of 6 little girls on a moments notice so I decided to give it a chance. Boy was that a mistake. Everything, from the service, the food, the cleanliness of the bathroom was horrible. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else.
Not "Sweet" at all.

In fact, this place left such a bitter taste in my mouth, I will never go back to this place again. My mom and I left in a shouting match with the owner who suggested we take our desserts back home and finish because the place was busy and she "like, has a business to run". Since when is it okay to kick out paying customers? We were there for almost an hour and spent $60. Doesn't that justify at least a smile ?
Go to another tea & dessert place!

I'm in NYC once a month for work and on my last trip I decided to give this place a try because it's "cute". Now I know that the decor is the ONLY thing this restaurant has going on. In my opinion: 1) RUDE STAFF 2) OVER PRICED FOOD 3) FILTHY BATHROOM
WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD
By achen80 on 3/29/2010
We threw my sister's bridal shower here.. What was suppose to be a happy time turned out to be stressful and uncomfortable, thanks to the owner of this restaurant. From the second we got there we felt unwelcome. They tried to cram 15 of us into an table for 8 people. When we asked for additional seating the owner acted like we were trying to get free food. What we got for $45 was a few bland sandwiches, tea, a couple of cheap teeny dry desserts, and alot of pretentious attitude. Is it really necessary to sneer when a customer asks you a question? We paid, with 20% tip as per our party agreement (keep in mind this was after they tried to overcharge us, 3 times). I've lived in NY for almost 5 years now and have NEVER experienced such awful service.
