We had a reservation and our table was ready, but were not allowed to sit down because we were missing a person from our party. A party of clearly upper class NYers arrived after us and were allowed to sit down as each member came in...discrimination? Possibly. The food was overpriced. For $40, we got a couple of sandwiches (if you could even call it that - think, the thinnest bread possible with a shmear of egg salad or tuna. The lettuce was the largest part.) After being told that we were going to be kicked out because they had another reservation, we tried to settle the bill, only to have to have it reprinted several times because they could not get the price right. I had to explain to them how to do it. There was no manager on premise and the eye roll I received was unprofessional.

Total Daddy-Daughter spot. I took my girls 4 & 6 to Sweetie Pie and they really were into the colorful scene, balloons, gum balls. It's a "no brainer" as this restaurant has the right spot, right prices, right atmosphere and right menu choices. MJAE

my niece and nephew (ages 5 & 7) came to town from LA and flipped out when i took them to sweetiepie! never seen anything like it. the owner was there tending bar and the kids were entranced by her - she's like a kid whisperer! i literally had to peel them out of there and they begged to go back every night. thanks sweetiepie for making me coolest aunt!!

My family and I are regulars at Sweetiepie and it's one of our favorite restaurants in New York (or anywhere!). The atmosphere is amazing for both kids and their parents with hot pink banquettes, the giant birdcage, great music and a full bar. The menu is simple and delicious with something for everyone - from burgers and mac and cheese to Roast chicken and chopped salads for the grown ups. And the desserts are incredible! Especially their cakes. We've also had birthday parties in their private room which were a blast. The staff is so kid friendly and the space is so unique and magical. There is nothing like it!!

We were so excited to go to Sweetie Pie for my daugther's 5th bday but were sorely disappointed. How the nephew of Warner LeRoy would hire such an inept staff and miss the mark so terribly is a wonder? This place could have been a goldmine but the service was terrible and the decor is almost wonderful but again missed the mark with not enough balloons to make a statement (not to mention they were in weird colors that do not match the "pink" decor) We had the eggs benedict where they served the eggs on raw english muffins, not toasted! The trays they show you as samples of the deserts looked wilted and tired and the china is chipped as well as the mirrored ceiling. I had high hopes for the place. We need a new, posh "Serendipity" in the city and this had the potential but it needs major work and attention on the food and service. My LeRoy salad had MUCH to be desired and the basket of bread was pathetic and stale!

We booked the gilded cage for dinner and my daughter loved it. I wish we had found this place sooner as it is perfect for playdates. The food is not what you come here for... though my waffles were perfectly nice.

We arrived to the restaurant only to discover our reservations were lost. When I explained to the manager / owner that we were celebrating a special occasion and had an elderly woman with us she responded with “take a seat”. After finally being seated - the bread arrived 15-20 minutes later. The food (when it finally arrived at our table) was mediocre at best. Then to kick off this dining experience the manager / owner came over to our table and explained that they would need our table for a private event and we would have to move immediately. If you plan to go here with your kids / friends or family, you should reconsider and go to Serendipity instead. The food, ambiance & service our far superior.
