Hard to enjoy flavors on the plate when temperature of the overly priced meal is cold, not room temperature, we're talking zero heat conducted. Highly salted not seasoned flavor. Wait staff was equally bland. Basic manners should be a prereq for any service industry position. Immature Brooklyn wannabe hipster waitresses who need to learn rudeness and incompetence does not deem you cool. Don't let the food sit in the kitchen while you're bs'ing at the bar. Terrible taste all around. Sweetwater is a better name for a resort anyway.

i've been a regular for years and although the main chef has left, the food is still great. however, i'm getting quite sick of the argentine "owner" and his manners. my husband and i came in waiting to be seated, when a group of tarts hobbled up, the argentine quickly sat them down. he should be running a club not a restaurant. if you can stomach watching this man flutter about trying to chat up chicks, your girlfriend or wife and his dismissive attitude with the other customers, then you'll have a great time at sweetwater....what has become of a neighborhood when regulars don't count anymore?

Came here for the pleasant outdoor patio in back. Wine (italian rose and new zealand pinot) was mediocre at best (the french white was better). Tasty avocado salad, delicious fluffy gnocchi, blah calamari, and a banana pie straight out of applebees. Service began competently, but we were forgotten when it came time for the check (and were the subject of some frustrated commentary when we asked for it a second time).

I had been to Sweetwater before they hired the current new chef (Paul Williams) it was good, but not as good as it is now. Sweetwater Restaurant is old Brooklyn style at its finest then add this great new chef and it's a winner. We tried the mussels in the chorizo broth that was oustanding. As well as his potato gnocci, made daily, that was light and fresh. Paul Williams changes his menu regularly, I'm excited to see what he does for the fall season. Great place for a romantic date as well as a group of friends.
