Took some friends and family to Taku for dinner one night and was literally amazed. The food was spectacular! Started out with their edamame, which was cooked to perfection. As a starter I order the black cod which is offically my new favorite dish! Beautiful black cod served with sweet miso and pickled persimon. It is to die for!! I had heard about their infamous ramen noodles and they gladly brought the entire table small bowls of it so we could order main courses as well. I wished they had brought me a full bowl when I took the first taste. The broth was perfect in everyway, noodles were delicious, and the bowl was beautifully garnished with pork, carrots, and scallions. This is definitely not to be missed. The main courses were beautifully plated and cooked perfectly, the hanger steak is delicious, as is the pork. We were all pleasnatly surprised and have continued to make a trip back to Taku at least once a week. Definitely worth it to get out of Manhattan for the evening at this gem of a restaurant!

We finally have a mid-priced restaurant with great food on Smith Street! Simple, delicious food paired with excellent cocktails or wonderful sake and wine selection makes this a great spot for a date, or for any occasion.
