"Burger Kings" is better

First they want you Credit Card to make a resrv over the phone, then i was waiting for 20 min in side, then why do i need resv?, then a freaking waiter pass by me 4 time and every time he paased me his ass was on my shoulders, and when we got food, you have to see those portions cat will ask for more, very loud music, hell no I will go back there, Cuba de Asia here I comeeeeeeeeeee!
Mass Market Zen at Tao yields Zero

First this is a scene restaurant, a place to be seen and hopefully see some celeb. Second it is really a bar not a restaurant. Third it is where tourists and people coming over bridges and thru tunnels come to for a night in Manhattan. Therefore, it has little to do with a true Manhattan dinning experience. Dinning has little to do with it. When an inept waiter mis-time the entrée order, which arrived two minutes after the appetizer, where the entrée was sent back to was not the kitchen but rather a service stand where it sat for 20 minutes. When the cold mess was again sent back, it went through a microwave experience and for a third time was place on the table. Hey, the kids from Bethpage don’t complain, so why are you so upset. Hey the Buddha is great and that’s all that matters.

when i walked into the place i thought id be in for a treat. the decor is great, but the food . . . not so much. Never order the seafood thai hot pot. I cant believe that they would have that inedible garbage on the menu. The spring rolls were ordinary and youd be better off having dim sum in chinatown if your interested in the dumpling sampler. I'm just glad I didnt have to pay the bill.
Great Party Space

None of us was expecting more than a cool room for a last minute largish birthday party but all us were pleasently surprised by great food and attentive service! Usually only Barneys would get us devout downtowners so far uptown! But there truly are few spaces where a group of adults can get together and get loud, eat great food and enjoy each other's company without disturbing the whole room. Bravo TAO...Not dead yet! Only drawbacks were aggressive bussing and questionable "Kobe" beef.
The BIG FREEZE

Tao has beautiful, impressive space featuring the largest Budda I have ever seen. Walking in I thought this would be a very nice experience. Instead it became one of the most uncomfortable restaurant experiences I have ever had. It was 5 degrees cold outside today, and just as cold in this restaurant - the heat was not working. They informed me that coffee, but not tea, was on the house because it was so cold inside. The food was ok, not great, though the portions were substantial. The salmon entree was fair, the steak entree was tasty. I enjoyed the salad. The service was friendly and personable. It is definitly a place you can take a child. The dining area is very large so your tot will not attract too much attention and they have high chairs. The asian menue is challanging for them, though my daughter loved the steak (and I don't serve her that at home)! After just a so so meal, and my toes absolutely frozen, this was not a pleasant experience at all. With so many great restaurants in New York, I will not be rushing back to Tao.

Fun, loud and pushy, just what the New Yorker ordered!! perfect for the guys and gals dressed in black with no curfew cause the food taste good around midnight!!!!!. ( what reservation ??)
