One of the Best Lunches Near Downtown Brooklyn

I work just north of Atlantic on Court Street, but I will happily take the extra time to bypass all of the restaurants within immediate striking distance and stroll to this Clinton Street neighborhood gem. The Cubano panini and Berber iced tea make for one of the best lunches I've had in the area. The bread is wonderfully crisped, as is the lightly salty prosciutto it contains. The fat in the prosciutto and ham give a nice light oiliness to the sandwich. The cheese is just melty enough without being overly liquefied. And that delicately minty iced tea is as refreshing a drink as I've had in recent memory. The servers are warm and unpretentious (a refreshing change from most deliberately quaint hipster coffee and sandwich shops), and the environs cannot be beat (right next to a park on a beautiful block outside; earthy wooden tables in a quiet atmosphere inside). Perfect for a mental health break in the middle of the work week or for a leisurely lunch any time.

Ok, so I finally gave this place a try and was pleasantly surpirsed. It's a sweet little place, but I was put off at first by the stroller crowd on the weekends... but it seems like the key is to get there before 11am, which is when I do all my best work anyway, so that was perfect. Anyhow, i got this green tea blended with cherry and rose, which was enough of a delight on its own. I did think it was a little pricey, but asked a few questions and found that its locally hand blended- and way better than the overpriced low quality stuff at starbucks (gag!). The tea plus the thouse gronola, really got me on a roll for the morning... so, yes, i would recomend it to any foodie who is looking for a place to use the wifi without sacrificing ambiance and food quality
