Had a private party/dinner upstairs for my fathers birthday. The staff was attentive. The food was quite good. Overall an excellent experience. I would recommend it without hesitation.

We went here on our first date after reading TONY and Zagets as well as the reviews on this site. It was lovely. Warm, cozy and friendly. The flat bread appetizer with cheese was yummy, as were the clams and mussels. We dined on the bolegnase and lasagna which was to die for. If you think you have had lasagna before, you have not until you try this one! Needless to say our first date was great too!

Heavy red sauce was the last thing on my mind on a 95-degree day, but my out-of-town friend craved Italian; I chose Teodora based on its location close to his hotel, and we were delighted. Cappelletti soup was delicious, spinach gnocchi in cheese sauce was heavy (as expected) but a real treat, and my striccitelli with zucchini, shrimp and sheep's cheese was a bit on the salty side, but I like that. We shared Italian cheesecake and tiramisu, both sublime. Without wine, 3 people ate well for $110.

After 2.5 hours at the table, we had to get up and leave because we had not been served dinner. Truly atrocious service. They were not even apologetic about the delay. We ended up going to a restaurant next door after we left.

I love going to this restaurant with my family and friends. The enviroment is romantic and family oriented; a combination that's usually hard to pull off. The stemmed clams in white wine is delicious!! The price is reasonable for the location and the service is delightful and friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Loved the veal and parmesan dumplings in capon broth, but a fishy tasting swordfish tagliatelle (too many olives!) and heavy fried calamari dish put a sour twist on the night. Also, after we opted not to order wine with our dinner, it felt like the waiter forgot about us. Just because we didnt order wine with our meal doesnt mean we should be treated any differently. Perhaps it was the large party in the back room that was throwing off their usual game, but my high hopes were dashed...

On a brisk and breezy Sunday afternoon, my wife and I lunched at this cozy eastside restaurant. Despite being mid-afternoon walk-ins, we were warmly and professionally welcomed by the staff and seated at our main floor table. After a few minutes, fresh crispy bread and dipping olive oil was brought to the table. Shortly we were provided menus and descriptions of the lunch specials. Our order placed, we chatted about origins of the restaurants decorative chotkes over a chilled bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio. Our appetizers, fresh buffalo mozzarella accompanied with sliced tomato and oil, and tuna tartare were as pleasing to the palate as to the eye. Main course selections, pumpkin rizzotto was buttery, rich and satisfying, with diced pancetta and pieces of cubed pumpkin; seafood fritto misto, expertly prepared and seasoned, was served in a delicate gaufrette potato basket. Teodora is a bit of Rome on the Upper-Eastside - a winner to be enjoyed over and over.

I just had my birthday dinner there, my second visit, the food was great as the first time I went there. The food is very well-prepared and unique.... And you must try tiramisu, it is THE BEST that I've ever had. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside is it's small, a little crowded, and the decor need some improvement.....

Words cannot describe how horrible my experience was at Teodora. First, my party was scolded at 5:30 pm for not having made a reservation, when there were only 2 other couples there. Second, it took us 20 minutes to get anyone's attention. Third, after pointing at an entree on the menu and making my best attempt to pronounce it, I was given the wrong dinner. It took three different people to figure this conundrum out, and when our own waiter finally deigned to ask what was wrong, he (literally) shouted at me and insisted I was the one at fault. So, maybe it was the humiliation and anger that made my dinner taste so terrible (so salty, it's a surprise I didn't have a coronary), but maybe not. Would have had a better time, and meal, at McDonald's, and saved $40. Don't go here, unless you enjoy being treated like an idiot by an incredibly inept staff.

What a lovely little Italian treat. Pastas are delicious with emphasis on the sauces, especially the sausage and pepper sauce, and Bolognese. Appetizers are large and can be shared. Shrimp with cannoloni in olive oil a must. Friendly and gracious service.
