Love this restaurant! Every time I come here I'm welcomed with such amazing service and the fish display never seems to fail to entertain me. The food is always very fresh and their wine list is huge. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant! The scallops, stuffed calamari, and grilled octopus are some of my favorites!

We had our daughter's wedding reception at Thalassa in September and it couldn't have been a more spectacular evening. The ambiance is very elegant yet so warm and cozy. Tasso the manager is amazing and coordinated everything with such precision and took care of all the details. My daughter lives in London and she married a gentleman from Greece so much of the coordination was done by email. Our friends from all over Europe and the USA commented on the excellent drinks, wine selection and fabulous food. The Royal Dorado fish is outstanding as well as the Filet Mignon. The wait staff was wonderful and so accommodating. We could not have had a more memorable, beautiful celebration anywhere else in the world. We are truly grateful for Tasso and his tremendous staff!!!!

looking for perfectly prepared greek food? Thalassa is a beautiful restaurant with superb food. Not cheap, but well worth it. Drink menu is great too, I recommend the Pear Martini :) I started with the Calamari stuffed with feta and tomatoes, it was delicious. Then I thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood Thalassian -- a mix of scallops, mussels and shrimp over orzo. It was simply perfect. Beautiful decor, helpful staff - overall a wonderful experience. First greek place i've found worthwhile in the downtown area.

My wife and I have and continue to host our best parties here, simply because Thalassa is top notch! Mouth watering food, excellent staff, lovely decor...we keep coming back for more..Friends and Family have continued to celebrate major occasions simply because Thalassa knows how to party in style. Our friends just have booked their wedding reception at Thalassa, it was their first and only choice, they know they are getting quality and style that will make for a memorable experience. Whether its for a party of two or our closest 120 friends, outdoes themselves every single time! Thank You!

Thalassa and Fantis School have the same owners. Fantis Foods is a major player in the Greek import game and if they won't let the employees call in sick then Maybe they are getting rich off the sweat off the backs of others??? The food at Thalassa is basically dressed up Greek food. However, when it comes to taste, its only above average (below average if you factor in price), and it is not exceptionally delicious Greek food. I expected some surprising flavors. We had mostly seafood, plus the lamb shank. The lamb was actually inedible. Way too salty!! And not very fresh either. We would have sent it back if anyone had actually come by to ask how things were. In the end, we just sucked it up, since the rest of the meal was not as bad. Lobster was OK, and the sole was not bad either.

ambiance is very good here. nice location in tribeca. very pleasant (and knowledgable) manager. food was good not great. had the scallop app. too much going on with the dish, needs to be simplified. had the skate and it was good. the best thign about this place is that the wine list (which carries some VERY nice names) is half price on mondays thru the end of february. this means that with some wines they end up being cheaper here than in the store. i will be back every monday because there are many wines id like to try on the list (kosta browne, marcassin, ect..)... you should take advantage of this while it lasts. i know i will.

If you want to impress your date - you won't go wrong with choosing this place. Decor totally gives you relaxed atmosphere of romantic Mykonos, food is just superb - starting from perfomance till last piece. Sommellier took excellent care of us, as well as all service was attentive and fast. We really enjoyed our evening, oh, don't forget Ekmek-Kataifi - dessert ranked as a "must"! Everything was just Perfecto! =)

From the moment you walk in until you leave you feel treated like royalty. The fish is amazing, try the Lethrini its flown in from Greece. The apps are also fantastic, wrapped scallop or octapus. Very strong hard to find wines on their list from all over. I have become a regular, hey why not if everything is great from food, wine, service and decor.
