My Roasted Chicken had hair on it. They replaced it with scallops that were as gross as 25 cent soggy dumplings from one of the places nearby in Chinatown. My boyfriend started to complain about the service and the owner told him to "relax". THIS PLACE IS TASTELESS, OVERPRICED, AND HAS THE WORST SERVICE IN NYC Our meal was worse than something I would have gotten at Grey's Papaya. Actually I would rather go to Grey's Papaya. After not honoring our reservation, one of the part owners who actually also is involved with Rushmeyers in Montauk around the corner from my house was a complete pyscho. He was running around yelling at his own clients to not walk past the bar area into the restaurant until they are being seated. He was pacing around sweating to the point in which he looked like he was on something. DO NOT TRY!!!

It is important to note that arriving at The Fat Radish can be a bit alarming as the surronding neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired. However, once inside, that quickly fades and you are left with a very comfortable eating expereince. My girlfriend and I arrived (without a reservation) and were seated at the bar that offered a full menu. The cocktail menu was nothing out of the ordinary however, it defintely sufficed. The service, as mentioned, was fantastic. Our waitress, Carolyne, was incredibly accomodating in giving suggestions and thoughts on amounts to order. In addition, when an item we ordered was not available, not only did she appologize and bring us a very fitting substitute, she did not charge us for that and offered us another free side (which we gladly accepted). The price also was not bad at all - consistent with NY restaurants of a similar style. I will absolutely be back.

Went there on two occasions, first when it opened it was quite sweet... then for my dirty 30 just last night... it was HORRIFIC. The staff was rude, discourteous... just classless. I was embarrassed to take my friends there. I checked on my phone to confirm this was indeed the right place as things change so quickly in NYC... I'm a vegetarian and asked the bacon to be removed from my salad, not only did they serve it with the bacon... I was given an attitude and told it would take some time for another order as they were too busy... Although I was on time they cancelled my reservation then seated us at the worst table in house... The cocktails well bad, if you want to pay $$$ for some cheap vodka with mountain dew... On all accounts I would not recommend this place!

They seated us right away. I took a look around a my friends and I agreed. The people who were here all looked like models or socialites. The people watching was fun. I asked the waiter to "surprise me" and he did with the red beat casserole of some sort. I hardly touched it, because it really wasnt that great. I didn't complain or anything. When he saw I didn't touch it, he insisted that it was on the house. Very sweet of him. One thing, however, that wasn't so great is that they would not refill our water. I already had a sore throat that night so I waived down 3 different waiters for a refill. Still nothing. So I went over to the bartender and asked, and right away I received water. She failed to mention, however, that the water she was giving me was spring water....and 6 dollars. I didn't complain since they didn't charge me for the dinner. Overall, I'll go back. I would recommend for a first date since the lighting makes everyone look totally bodacious.

After being privy to all the buzz about this restaurant, I knew I had to try it. I called to let the hostess know my party of 2 would be arriving no more than 15 minutes late. "No problem!" she responded, in a very friendly tone. Once we arrived, we had to wait another 30 or 40 minutes until we were seated. The hostess saw the look on our faces and came over to give us that apologetic schpiel about how she wants to give us a nice table and is just waiting for this party who had been there "for HOURS!" to get up. And then walks in a woman who, right in front of us, says "Rockefeller, for two, if you can, but please don't make a fuss!" Meaning, sit us now or we won't be coming back and neither will any of our friends. Lo and behold, THAT party of two that clearly strolled in without a reservation, got seated before us. Onto the food--not special. A lot of vegetables but nothing particularly tasty, even though we went with every single one of our waitress's recommendations. I dine out at least once a week at NYC's finest and this is NOT BUZZ-WORTHY. The food was bland, the decor and vibe is nice and the winelist and drinks list was great--but food-wise...will not be coming back.
