9 am, tuesday morning, on the train heading to the city. Open the New York Post to induldge myself in the latest gossip on Page Six, as I do every morning. Reading all about Celeb sightings, "wait what's this?" I ask myself, as I am looking at a "Four Seasons" advertisment and I see that I can afford to eat there. I thought only people like Donald Trump could eat there. I decide to see what all the fuss is about. I called friend to go to lunch there. In one short, simple, sweet word, STUNNING. The food, ambiance, decor, service, is all top notch. The best part about this experience is that I can still afford my rent at the end of the day. $35 lunch at the Four Seasons is incredible. I will be back for the 3 coarse $59 menu in the grill room. All and all excellent experience.

Found myself at the Four Seasons Restaurant the other afternoon with visiting friends at lunch time and thought most of the patrons were going to literally drop dead at the table. I felt bad because the place is so unbelievably beautiful and the food is quite amazing. But they seriously need to step boldly into the 21st Century. Greater restaurants and businesses have gone out of business for not keeping up with the times. To answer the final question "Would I go back?" - YES, if they made an effort to bring in new blood.

Okay, so if you're looking for good food, find a restaurant like Peter Lugers, or Carmine's. You want snooty waiters who go away and never come back, the the Four Seasons is for you. If you're not a party of 12 with hundred dollar bills dripping from your pockets, go somewhere else. You many actually get a good dinner, because you won't at the Four Seasons. If you do manage to get served, you'll find plates with little taste and less imagination. You're better off at the hot dog cart out in the street.

The Four Seasons restaurant and bar was designed in late 50s by Mies van der Rohe (Barcelona chair) and Philip Johnson, allegedly commissioned with no budget - everything is bespoke. The result is probably the two most beautiful dining rooms of their time in the world - parted by an original curtain designed by Pablo Picasso... get the drift? The rich and powerful still rule the roost here - together the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and extortionate prices prohibits the moguls' regular watering hole from changing much. Anyway, my curiosity and love for early contemporary design won me over, and I invited a girlfriend for lunch in the bar. Fixed price menu for $25 - best value in New York? We arrived early to the Grill Room which houses the bar... Exquisite... square wooden island bar with an original Richard Lippold sculpture made from 100s of bronze rods that are suspended from the ceiling. What had on the outset promised to be fairly quick lunch, soon turned into a four hour drunken marathon with delicious wine, superb oysters, salad and famous burgers... we didn't want to leave! The bar is frequented by seasoned drinkers and regulars who favour a casual lunch and the flawless service. Anyway, having been completely bowled over by this surreal place, I had to tell my only powerful friend in London about my lunch - turns out this is where he goes every time he is in New York before he flies back. He said he would invite me next time - bless him:)

Yes indeed the Four Seasons is a place to go to be seen, having said that, there are some Serious issues ,such as , when one orders Breast of Duck, MW, the Captain saying it's usually served RARE , then having it sent back to the kitchen ,for a Rush 0job, Poor. Theres the matter of the Busser's changing the table Cloth. and Exposint the Table -top, That would?should NEVER happen under Tom Morgatti, but still He was seated in the Pool Room. There's the matter of the Kitchen/swing /door, Sweaking ?? for want of a bit of oil etc. This should nNOT happen in the Four Seasons, Amen Seamus Fogarty, in the Free State of MD .

Next to this subject and quote there should be a picture of Julian. The effects of his personal influence abound within the very fabric and the well rehearsed pulse one feels beating from the moment one approaches the reservation desk to the moment you leave. The friendly attitude of the staff and the meticulously prepared fare make the Four Seasons one of New York City's most enjoyable restaurants and most assuredly one of its most spectacular destinations.
Four Seasons, a Fantastic choice

I have been dining at the Four Seasons along with many other fine restaurants in NY for the past 30 years. It is amazing how consistent my experience has been. Whether it has been dinner for 2 or a party of 50. The food has always been great, the service as always is the best and the view in the pool room is always interesting. Add to that a fantastic wine list, the Four Seasons is always my favorite choice.

i went to four seasons 7 years ago and remember having a good experience, i went back last weekend and found it very disappointing, aside from the good service, the food was ordinary.. the best part were the after dinner desserts. in fact, we called the same day for a reservation and were able to get in, that says it all....

I recently dined at the four seasons for a special occasion. Once we were seated, my guest and I were virtually ignored the entire evening. To top it off, the food was absolutely awful. I went to the four seasons expecting a fabulous dining experience, replete with great service and amazing food, but instead was left disappointed. A restaurant I do recommend, however, is Le Bernardin - absolutely fabulous in every way!

We made reservations for our 20th anniversary as we wanted something special. We dine out about once a month and we are fairly used to creative, fresh,well prepared food. So we thought this would be a cut above some of our favorites. Oh, the decor is great- how often do you walk past a Picasso to get to a dining room with a central pool surrounded by marble? But the food-so disappointing. I could have prepared the Tuna I was served and my husbands Chatham Cod was not bad but nothing spectacular. Save your money and go to Bouley or Union Square Cafe.
