I went there early evening expecting to order a meatball sub to-go. I was greeted by a surly hipster who rudely informed me that they were not taking to-go orders because they had to serve the patrons eating in the restaurant first. This was a bullshit response and he knew it because he then proceeded to ramble off a number of other excuses including they did not think the sub would travel well. I was dismissed to the side and ignored by the host that seemed to be annoyed by my presence, so I walked across the street to my reliable joint, Spitzer's Corner , where I knew I'd be welcome with friendly host and consistently great food.

The meatballs are average. The place is cosy and the accompaniments to the balls are good which is what maybe makes the meal. If you enjoy your company and the decor even a bad meal can taste ok, so really it's so-so food and price.

I went the week they opened, so perhaps this isn't the best review. The place was packed and service was okay. We ordered several sliders so we could try all the meatballs and various sauces they had and two sides. We were served maybe 3/4 of the meatballs we had actually ordered and the sides were pretty awful. on the bright side the meatballs themselves were delicious - even if they weren't the ones we ordered. and the ice cream sandwiches were heavenly, although they did mess that one up too. it was a little frustrating continually getting the wrong food, and we were never comped for any of their mistakes and a meal that took well over an hour, but the food was still good enough that i've been trying to go back and give them a second chance but they're always swamped.

I went to this place with my mom and my brother. Sure enough, that's about 2 people too many to get a table on a Friday night at nine. The hostess was as sweet as could be, anxiously monitoring her little notebook. Daniel, the chef/owner came outside and talked to us for awhile. He was a humble, simple guy who humored me by seeking my advice on how he could he improve on the fish-side of things. We crept around the bar, finally sat, and had an amazing meal, cheap bottle of wine, and plenty of conversation with the people around us. Next time, I'm going alone.

My grandmother never made meatballs when I was growing up, but this place still feels right on in the comfort food/nostalgia department. If it wasn't always slammed, I'd be there multiple nights a week for the spicy pork balls in red sauce, market salad, and amazing salted caramel ice cream sandwiches. Looking forward to getting ice cream to go in the summer as well...

Great food, great selection. For the health conscious, the foodie, or the vegan. The kitchen sink option was great, as were the specials, both meatballs and veggies. The roasted squash with raisins is a dish I will try to replicate all fall. Great service from the bartender who was our server. Great reliable, innovative, and fun food for a great price. Good beer and wine for cheap, and if you are willing to sit at the bar, the wait for a seat is completely reasonable. Delightful way to start out a night on the LES... or end one..

I went on Columbus Day around 2pm and it was packed. We only waited about 20 minutes though. I got a meatball smash with beef meatballs, pesto sauce and provolone. It was killer. I didn't want it to end. My boyfriend got the naked meatballs - the special (jerk chicken) with the classic tomato sauce. He literally licked the bowl and said it was the best tomato sauce he had ever had. We complimented it with a delicious lemonade, mashed potatoes and an ice cream sandwich (vanilla on a brownie). The hostest was nice and explained how the menu worked. I can not wait to go back. Yumm.

This place always seems to be busy, but it's worth the wait if you're a patient person or have something to do in the meantime. The staff was friendly and attentive. They are very helpful to go through the menu with you without being pretentious. The food was amazing. Although I recommend asking the server for the best combination of sauces/meatballs/cheeses, I've heard of less than stellar combinations. I've had great luck with the pesto and mozzarella. Everything is very reasonably priced, but the sangria is not worth the dollars. The glasses for the "carafe" we ordered are called "shot glasses" in Texas. The place itself is nice and clean, but the music is a bit loud for meatballs. Overall: very impressed.

We got really lucky and only had to wait 10 minutes for a table at 2:00 on a Saturday. Had the chicken meatball smash with red sauce and provolone, 2 sliders - one meat the other veggie, risotto and the special salad. Everything was great - the meatballs were so moist and delicious! The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Yes it was crowded, yes it was noisy. But its not the type of place where you are sitting forever. We were in and out quickly, but thoroughly satisfied.
