this was the worst dining experience i've had in years and not just for one reason. the mussel dishes are gross - picture mixing mussels and hamburger helper. the service was poor. and on top of it all it's expensive, which is like a slap in the face. i wouldn't eat there again if it was free. the only bright spot was a very friendly hostess.

" I really want to commend The Mussel Pot. For having the best mussel. Since I love eating seafood, and my favorite would be eating mussels. One of the best dish I had is Blue Mussel Rigatoni. It's very delicious, it's the best dish that I ever had. I would be much grateful to tell my friends about this restaurant. I'm sure they will also love this place."

I come here with my girlfriends every few weeks. We always have an amazing meal and a great time. The mussel dishes are delicious. The menu has a lot to offer seafood lovers and non seafood lovers. The service is always friendly and attentive. We love the outdoor garden and the ambience of this restaurant is perfect. Great for dates and groups.

This restaurant is amazing. The food is amazing and the service is always great. So many options on the menu besides seafood. Over 20 Mussel dishes and the wine list is huge. I highly recommend this place.

On Bleecker, just east of 6th, so it does get busy but we had no issues that others mention. Service was friendly, fast and casual. Had the Lobster Mac & Cheese App which was fantastic. I highly recommend. Enough for two to share. For mussels went with the Texan, with pulled pork and bbq sauce. Very nice. Lots of other interesting choices and we'll be back to try. Very decent selection of craft beers.

Had an 8pm reservation on a Thursday night, so we arrived at the restaurant at 7:55pm. We checked in with the host who said it would be around 10 minutes until our table was ready, but that WE should check back in with him at that time. This was the first thing that put us off. Excuse me, but as the host isn't it YOUR job to check in with ME since I am a customer at your establishment? After twenty minutes of sitting at the bar the host had neglected to check in with us. We re-approached and were told that he had two other tables to seat before us, but then we were next in line. My boyfriend expressed his annoyance that our 8pm reservation time had already come and gone, and that the host should not be seating walk-ins before seating the people with reservations. He brushed this off and then lied right to our faces by saying that he would seat us next. We then watched him seat three other parties before us. We were getting ready to walk out, when he finally told us our table was ready, and offered us a round of drinks on the house. All of this could be forgotten if the food had been good. Sadly, it was not. The Provencal mussels were extremely bland, while the Fra Diavolo mussels were overly spicy. We had to ask for bread twice and our water glasses weren't refilled once. The fries were fine only because I like soggy fries, if you like yours crispy don't expect to get that here. Overall a very disappointing experience, and I will definitely not be returning.

My girlfriend and I decide to do a Fri. night date at this place in hopes of discovering an awesome new restaurant. We had 9pm reservations and showed up at 8:55pm. Our table was not ready so we went to the bar. My dirty martini was offensive. It was as if I ordered a glass of water. Shameful. We finally sit down at 9:20pm and order the seafood tower and 2 pots of mussels. There is a reason that tower costs only 42 bucks. The shrimp and lobster were dried out as if it were beef jerky. The clams were sickening. I might as well have swallowed sea water. We sent it back and ordered lobster mac and cheese. The waiter said the managers agreed with us as they served it to the couple next to us. They stopped eating the tower real quick. The lobster mac was salt city with chunks of dry lobster and ham. The mussels were just okay but my pot had the same clams as the tower. They looked really bad, all stuck to the middle of the shell. Check and left. This place won't last a season, don't go it's nasty. Try Blue Water Grill instead.

Just had lunch here and had the most romantic afternoon that I could imagine. This is the place that I would consider having my engagement party. Hopefully my gf does not read this! lol Can't wait to come back this Friday and try the other mussels.

Me and my girlfriends learned about this place from Facebook and decided to check it out. The restaurant has a very pleasing and inviting appeal to it. The apps we had were amazing, lobster mac n cheese and tuna tartare. The mussel entrees were big, juicy & tasty. All of our drinks were delish and the bartenders were very nice. Over all a fantastic experience.

HORRIFICALLY RUDE WAIT STAFF! Portions are quite small for the price. Food is average. Restaurant empty except for 3 tables yet waiters were unavailable. 10 minute wait just to be acknowledged. Lovely back yard garden. Inside table are too close and not conducive for conversations without next table hearing you. We cannot stress enough how sassy, fresh and dismissive the staff is.
