Avoid the Surf Lodge at all costs. The attitude by the employees is downright appalling. Watch out for the 20% gratuity automatically included in all credit card purchases at the bar. We purchased a $75 bottle of wine, only to be charged $15 for the bartender to open the bottle and pour two plastic glasses for us. According to the bartender it’s their policy to automatically charge 20% to all credit card purchases. No sign stating this. No heads up before hand (we were the only two at the bar before dinner). We questioned them about and were given an attitude and told there was nothing that can be done and were stuck paying the tab. The service at dinner afterwards was no better. When I replaced shrimp with tofu in one dish we were charged an extra $6. It was absolutely shameful how this place tries to rip you off. As for the food, it was average, definitely not worth the price we paid. I will not be back and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

never seen so much botox, collagen and awful shirts in one place ever.

My husband and I deided to go on a date last friday to surflodge restaurant and although we saw some of the awful reviews we decided to find out for ourselves. Big mistake! From the moment we walked into this restaurant my husband and I were "greeted" by the rudest hostess who asked if we had a reservation and when we told her we did not she rolled her eyes and told was it was a min of 45 mins wait. I asked her why so long if the restaurant is empty and she told me there were reservations arriving in 1 hour. i told her so another reason for her to seat us now so we can be gone before her 1 hour packed restaurant. finally after 45 mins she sat us, the food was ok but unfortunately the hostess managed to ruin our evening. who wants to leave home to be insulted and humiliated by the hostess (her name is natalie)- Don't waste your money!This was the WORST restaurant eating experience I have ever had. I will not return to this restaurant and I advise you to stay away. we asked to speak with the manager but we were told he was not around.

The hostess seemed more interested in playing "Hamptons" than making people feel welcome. Try the the bar tender's signature Montauk Storm cocktails on the great outdoor deck while you wait. We waited for over 2hrs for a table after being told it would be only a few minutes. Ten minutes after ordering, our waiter came back to the table to tell us that the kitchen ran out of both items that we ordered--they told him a few hours ago, but he forgot. He also forgot an entire entree that we ordered, when we asked about it, his response was, "you didn't order that, but I can get you one." The hostess came over at one point and reminded us that we "waited really long" for our table. As for the food: Radicchio Salad--zero magic, barely the sum of its parts; Scallop App--cooked well, tasty, pickled watermelon was a perfect complement; Fish & Chips--an embarrassment, soft fish soft fries, all stuck together in a soggy mess. The loaded Burger complete with fried egg sounded interesting, but we didn't order it. Not sure it would have shown up even if we had.
