We were hoping Trestle, with its great patio, would be our new neighborhood spot. But the food was average, especially given the price, and the service was frosty when our server deigned to come by on a slow Monday night. Chicken: dry, edible but bland. Halibut: not terrible, but pretty tasteless. Brussels sprouts: bland, undercooked, cold. Salad with bacon: tasty. Drinks: they were good, but came verrryy slowly. Overpriced+bad service+mediocre food...hopefully someone new will take over that patio soon.

I ate at Trestle a few nights ago; my only regret is not having been hungrier upon arrival. The only thing I ordered was a bottle of Barbera and a roasted chicken with winter greens in broth; my friend was not hungry and contented herself with drinking all the wine, as usual. The food was outstanding; ingredients perfectly balanced, portion of appropriate size. It was just enough to leave me wanting more. Thank you.

Planned a date here with my fiance. I made a reservation (and I'm glad I did) because we showed up and the place was PACKED. Which made it even cooler that they were able to accomodate us and seat us right away even though we showed up early. I would have been glad to eat inside because the decor was mellow, hip, and low lit, but we were brought out to the slick little garden out back which was equally as nice, if not nicer. We were treated to friendly and attentive service. Wine and cheese and cured meats...all were very good. Steak and Salmon were also excellent. And the Pizokel were awesome and we spent most of the rest of the evening arguing whether or not it was potato we were eating. I'm no expert on food but I know when I drop over $100 on two people, I have expectations. This place was worth the money.

Great service from friendly people with no problems when I ate in its first week of opening. I've also gone back several times and is great for those post Thursday night Chelsea art gallery events on the next few blocks. The bib lettuce buttermilk salad is great and the beer chocolate souffle slightly intoxicates the tongue.
