I went to Tuscan last Friday July 2nd, the service was mediocre, the food left much to be desired. Not only were the choices limited in number but also limited in size and kind. It was also a rude awakening to pay $200 on a piece of grilled chicken and a porkchop w/a cesar salad. They should be ashamed of themselves!

As a steakhouse, Tuscan is very sorely lacking. The ribeye was very fatty and not particularly tasty. The garlic bread was the only really good part of the meal. Considering the price and the plethora of better restaurants in the area there's no reason to go here.

I expected great things from Tuscan given (a) its Chodorow-Spirito pedigree and (b) I had passed the restaurant several times and been accosted by wonderful smells from the kitchen. When I finally dined there I was incredibly disappointed by both the service and the food. We had been seated for about 20 minutes before anyone even came to take a drink order. I ordered the lobster, which was room-temperature, and it was awful. I had to send out a search party to find our server to try to get coffee, dessert or the check. Save yourself the time, money and heartbreak. Don't go.

Ok, I love Rocco and Union Pacific particuraly, so I asked a friend to try this out. The place is huge, airy and so pretty. Def. a place to grab a drink upstairs after work, maybe a munchie but expect to pay as this place averages $10 glasses of wine and the menu is CPS prices. The filet which was the "special" was quite expensive ($48) and not up to the price tag, had better at Ang & Maxie's.. Some of the sides Rocco "invented" are to strange for a steakhouse everyone looks to simplicity and comfort when dining here. Rocco is a genius at Union but for Tuscan he has to stick to just steak & potatoes, lighters desserts. I would go here again to grab a cocktail but unfortunatly not even sitting to Bryant Gumble helped us out. I have to say one the Asian Maitre'D gave us absolutely the best service we have ever seen. Go to try at least since its a new hot spot but have a drink and sit at the bar, even there you'll be astonished at the check and the view.

Sorry. It's just not worth it. (Very expensive) While the decor is spectacular the management has forgotten to train their wait-staff. I've had more professional, nicer, more polite and a LOT LESS sarcastic service in Telephone. Terrific truffle pizza and expertly seasoned greens can't make up for the amateur service. (By the way, what's the big deal about the jardineira on the table? Many jarred versions par Tuscan's recipe.) And, since this started out as a Steak House, well, the T-bone should at least match up to Peter Luger's. Forget it, neither turf nor surf at Tuscan is a value amidst abundant NYC-available quality and price. If you're gonna pay this kind of price tag, stick to a Danny Meyer joint. But, to see some great restaurant decor, ESPECIALLY the restrooms, have a drink upstairs at the bar (with the bartenders, who obviously got some good training from somewhere else!) then a trip downstairs with your mate. Kudos to the architect / designer!
