I wasn't sure how much I was going to like Uncle Jack's. From what I had heard and seen I thought it might have been overpriced for what it really is. I've been to a number of restaurants in the city that purport to have "the best THIS" or "the best THAT." But Uncle Jack's delivered on the promise. The service was friendly and attentive, and the energy in the restaurant was lively. My date and I shared a porterhouse that was delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking. Our waiter was so fun and knowledgeable! I would recommend Uncle Jack's to anyone who likes great steak and great service.

SOME GOOD DISCOUNTS NOW ON MENU

It appears that in response to distressed economy, high-end "prime" steakhouses like Uncle Jack's Steakhouse are lowering their prices, putting out new inexpensive dishes. Their two pound chef broiled lobster dinner with all the trimmings is a great bargain at $30. There are now dinner items for $22-$23 like excellent short ribs. There are discounts on wines Tuesday nights. It is actually an opportune time to eat in these otherwise expensive places!

I came to Uncle Jack's specifically to try their porterhouse for two. Loved it!!! Shared it with my date and it was plenty enough. The ambience was cozy and traditional steakhouse vibe. Will be back for the Lobster special mmm.....

The best steak and service in New York.

Uncle Jack's is without a doubt my family's favorite restaurant. The food is perfect every time (the Porterhouse is my favorite), the staff is attentive and accommodating, and the atmosphere manages to be both fun and classy. The portions are more than generous--I always leave totally stuffed with plenty to bring home. It is a steakhouse, but for the past few visits I've been branching out to their seafood specials and have not been disappointed (their lobster cocktail is a real treat and always on the menu). And I don't know much about wine, but my dad raves about the selection. It's an ideal spot for meeting with clients, special occasions (I recently went for a friendÂ’s birthday) or just a fun and fancy dinner out. Uncle Jack's holds itself to a high standard, and meets it every time.

There is no better or more consistent steak than the porterhouse for two at Uncle Jack's. It rivals Lugers without the attitude. Great seafood especially the chilean seabass or the seared tuna. Perfect place for entertaining clients before an event at the Garden. The original restaurant in Bayside has the most attentive staff in all of New York.

My fiancee and I had dinner at Uncle Jack's this Christmas Eve. It was a very spcial evening for us because we got engaged that night, and I am SO glad we chose to dine here on that special night!! As soon as we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a warm smile and got seated right away. I didn’t like the first table they took us, but as soon as I asked if there were any booths, they took us upstairs, and let us chose a seat where we wanted to sit.The service was AMAZING as well. The captain was very friendly, and NOT FAKE or stuck up. The food was AMAZING. We got the porter house steak with cream of spinach and mashed potatoes. Both the steak and and sides were like a dream. They melted in my mouth, with abundunt flavor that still lasts in my memories. At the end of dinner, they gave us a complimentary dessert with 3 different kinds of cake! All in all, the food, and the very professional service, the atmosphere was the BEST reastaurant experience we have ever had!!!!!

Advertizing as a steakhouse and serving subpar steak is disingenuous.

The courtesy of the staff was negated by the restaurants' prescribed schtick. Just give the customers a menu and forgo the pressure tactics. We went to UJ's to quench our steak hankering with a deservedly over priced steak. What we ended up having was a grisly, overcooked, charred steak train-wreck (the sides weren't impressive either). We ordered med/rare, it was served with the slightest hint of pink in the center. They need to nix the char and serve the food they way it's ordered. Not to mention the wine list 300% markup...really? The undeserved pretentiousness of UJ's taints the food and overall dining experience. On the flip side, our first visit to UJ's was a pleasure and was spent in the bar area. We set out for a cocktail and a snack. The courteous wait staff understood our intentions and didn't try to sell! sell! sell! Unfortunately, due to the bizzare nature of my second visit if I have to eat there again it will be with low expectations. A name change to "Uncle Jack's House" may lead to less disappointment.

Go to The Strip House For Steak

This place was completely overpriced and the steak was not good. It was not properly charred and had a funny taste. This place does not compare to sparks or the striphouse and it is more expensive than both. The waiters have a very bad attitude if you ask for a menu and they just assume everyone wants a 3 lb lobster for $150 with their steak. I would NOT go back here. The food is mediocre and the prices outrageous.

4 of us recieved a very warm welcoming and world class service at the the bar! Were seated upstairs and a bald guy presented himself as our Captain. Man that guy could sell his mother if he wanted but that was the problem . He started saying the He was the menu and went off with a 10 !! minute rap about mostly ridicolously priced items that were NOT even on the menu. He was rapping Kobe Beef, Fresh Lobsters, Beluga Caviar, Dom Perignon like every guest was a P.Diddy or D.Trump. He just made us feel so totally unconfortable with his extremely pushy attitude. After 15 min he finally gave us the menu against his will. We ordered 4 Appetizers, 4 Entrees and 3 sides and still he asked if we wanted (a couple of chopped up Lobsters) with our Entrees to share ROFL!!! Food was good, the meat great but dont you expect that when they charge 49 bucks for a steak? The place is very nice but his pushy attitude doesnt really belong in such a classy restaurant. His car salesman attitude really overshaded everything on what could have been a great night!!
