After attending the Food and Wine event on Oct 10, 2009, we wanted to get a bite to eat. We noticed this restaurant in the middle of an intersection and decided to try it. Well, beyond our surprise the food was excellent, service outstanding and the hostess was charming. A must to go to. Joe

Was a warm day and too many restaurants have you sit cheek to jowl outside, so I sat down here. The server was great, low-key, not pushy, but informative. Had a few drinks, never became thirsty. Pizza was pretty good, tasting fresh and crispy. Best outdoor spot around.

I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, in fact I think the Board of Health should really check it out!. The service was bad and sleazy. They snuck on an extra tip of $100 to my charge. This place should be closed down.

Vento has struck the perfect chord with a trendy yet comfortable atmosphere, and amazing gourmet food at reasonable prices. Everything on the menu, I swear, is delicious, and portions are small enough to try a LOT. The wait staff is pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable, especially the fantastic bartender! Can't wait to go back...

This is my third time in NYC and it was the first chance that I have to invite a couple of friend to have diner. So, I was looking for some restaurant no fancy, no expensive but good, having in my mind the quality on the service and food. So, This restaurant answer all my expectation!!! Very good ... I recommended ... In Brasil, particulary in São Paulo, we are very selective with these two points.

I frequent Vento for personal dinners as well as to entertain clients, as the service has always been spectacular and the restaurant has a great dining atmosphere. Time and time again I have been pleasantly surprised by the great value as well. I would definitely recommend trying it out!

Please forget any bad reviews you hear about Vento. This restaurant is a delight from start to finish. The service is great, any server will be more than happy to go into detail or recommend certain dishes when asked. The atmosphere is even better, perfect for dining with friends before hitting the town or for a romantic dinner. The people watching here is great as well, models, fashionistas and all the downtown "cool" that comes along with the Meatpacking District. Don't miss this one.

We waited a long time for our table, but it wasn't so bad because everyone was so friendly and the unique cocktails were so delicious. I loved quite a bit of the food too, but a few items were quite salty and difficult to finish even though I really loved the flavors. It's worth the wait and the trip overall.

After reading quite a few bad reviews of Vento, I was prepared for the worst. Fortunately, Vento was very good. The portions were small, but the quality of the food was very good. We enjoyed the baked stuffed clam appetizer (not too heavy), filet medallions (was overdone--ordered it medium and it arrived well done) with artichoke ravioli (yum!), and salmon with really tasty mushrooms. The zeppole dessert was fun and the cappuccino gelato with chocolate was wonderfully decadent. The decor was nice and our waitress was very personable. Perfect for dinner before a night out in meatpacking. The restaurant was pretty empty when we sat down around 8:15pm, but completely filled up by the time we were done with our appetizers.

I've been to Vento twice in the last two months for brunch and had great experiences both times. Admittedly, the first time I had a problem with the organic omelet I ordered, it was runny, but I ate half plus the salad that came with it. The manager came by to ask if we were alright and noticed I had not eaten my WHOLE omelet and asked if everything was alright... because the service had been so good the whole time we were there I wasn't in the mood to complain, but she asked again and I said it was actually a bit runny. She apologized and said she'd take care of it, took it away and sent our waitress back to the table. The waitress apologized said the omelet would be taken off my bill and asked if I wanted anything else... That experience was so nice I went back again for brunch on Easter, had the same great waitress and another lovely brunch. I recommend for brunch if anything.
