I have been going to westville for years and progressively the service gets worse and worse. The manager just got on the phone and yelled at me because for the 4th time in two weeks I received the wrong order. Buyer beware this is not the westville it used to be. Being a regular means nothing, the orders will be wrong and when they are right or wrong they will take a ridiculous time to get to you. I suggest you find another local joint with this level of food because as a patron of years I am completely done with the place. Food is still great but service sucks and no one on the phone has the ability to get the order straight so quite frankly, the blaim is passed to the orderer. Being yelled by the management when there hires can't get stuff straight is comical. Find a new joint.

Brunch here is excellent, Service very friendly and attentive, and food even better. With a friend, I ordered the french toast- [piping hot and sprinkled with strawberries and confectioners sugar], she, the lox/capers/tomatoes/miracle egg scramble, with a side of perfectly flavored potato hash, and we split the two, sweet and savory. Oh coffee, endless and super powered... also, we were seated at the table right next to the door, and we had our own personal heater! The only down side I would say is how packed it can get for brunch- sense of urgency towards the end of your meal. And the tiny bathroom right in the kitchen. On the other hand, at least you can give your regards to the cooks on your way in/out!

Best value in the West Village

Their gazpacho is the best I've had and I'm a foodie. Many vegetarian items on their menu I've tried and have found delicious, well-priced and heartily generous in portion. In terms of decor, it perhaps feels like you are in a rural or beach-town sandwich shop.
Perhaps the obvious negative is the fact that its small, so the lines get long and the experience feels rushed as everyone in the village discovers the great value in this place.

I had previosuly had brunch at Westville and thought the food was Ok. Tonight I ordered take away since I'm not feeling well. The steak sandwich was gritty; a below average cut of meet. I asked for fries for what I thought would be an addtional $1 as stated on the menu and when the food arrived I was charged $5. I called the restaurant and the man who answered the phone told me that I ordered incorrectly and HUNG UP ON ME. I will never dine in or order from there again.

A great little place for lunch or dinner. Everything I've tried has been very good. The cobb salad is awesome, I get it several times a week. I find the staff to be friendly and accomodating though busy due to the popularity of this place. There are very few places that I have found that offer such great pricing on really good food with a nice atmosphere!!

My friends and I have been to Westville several times, and have always enjoyed the food. However our service tonight was INEXCUSABLE.
We'd just finished our meal, and were settling the bill, when a waiter I can only assume held a controlling interest in the restaurant (else he would've been fired long ago) came to the table and demanded to know why someone (our friend who'd briefly left the table to use the restroom) had left a half-full beer at her place. The waiter returned seconds later to complain that "dozens of people wanted our table" then he poured her beer into a paper cup-- presumably to encourage us to leave faster.
Honestly, we understand that small restaurants depend on table turnover-- and we are the last people to linger over a meal when others are waiting-- but we really had JUST finished our meal.
No one of our party was drunk or unruly or remotely impolite but the ersatz maitre d was simply RUDE.
He probably won't care, but he's lost our business forever. Too bad, because the food was alright.

I go to Westville all of the time now -- it is the type of cool little place that the West Village needed -- hip, cheap, good food, and cool atmosphere. Make sure to try to the mac & cheese and the butterscotch pudding.

The place is small. If you're in a rush, you might consider ordering in...or you can wait. The staff is friendly and try to be helpful.
Main dishes can be burgers, turkey burgers, pork chops, chicken, that sort of thing. There's a large choice of good side dishes. You can eat here unceremoniously and cheaply, so it's a good, neighborhood choice...if you can get in. Others have discovered it.
A full dinner can be had for about $20 or less.
