What happened to this place...definitely something nefarious

Not sure what happened to this place. Was hanging out with some friends tonight, had one drink and the bartender started aggressively telling me to quiet down. I ask for my check and left quickly (after paying almost $100 for drinks for 5 people). I felt threatened, felt like it was race-oriented as I don't know what happened, neither did my party or the people around us. I will call the owner. Let's see what happens....

A little dark for summer but I can see this place being really cozy on a cold winter's day. They have a nice selection of about a dozen delicious beers that pair very well with the menu. The menu is short and mostly appetizer sized plates but quite good. I highly recommend the pulled pork sliders with spicy mustard with a nice amber ale. The staff are great too, very friendly, very helpful with the menu and beer pairings.

This is my neighborhood bar and it's truly a great spot. The scene can get a little B&T on weekends, but ideal for post-work drinks or a quite bite on the week days.

from great beginnings, a place now overcome by screechy blonds

we adored this place when it opened last autumn--something earthy and real with no scene, and in our neighborhood. the owners are lovely people, the food divine, and the selection of beers and bourbons, right up our street. however, it's now been taken over by a crowd hitherto seen on the other side of 7th Avenue and meatpacking sorts. it's impossible to provide good service when most are there just to overdrink and crowd the space, so we feel we can only go on the odd afternoon. very disappointing for a place with such good aspirations and quality product!
