It was a decidedly a non-luxurious dining experience. Overrated, overpriced -- and horrible low-level service. I was shocked. Mediocre food (which would be OK if the whole rest of the experience wasn't such a let-down). I have a decent amount of experience dining at high end restaurants. I tend to take others out as a gift or celebration and the luxurious attentive experience is what I'm seeking when I choose an established high-end restaurant. That was far from the case here -- not efficient, nor warm-mannered, nor accommodating -- I get far better service at Smashburger. The specials were mumbled, and when we asked for repetition or further explanation we were no better off. Everyone seemed clumsy and insecure with what they were doing -- from hostess to wait staff to manager. No smiles, poor eye contact, muttery voices -- just not the confidence you'd expect. At such an establishment the food should be memorable, not average. It was average -- some things better than others. Some items were overcooked, and food did not come out hot. Also, we would have gotten another bottle of wine but they didn't come back to see if we wanted one. The only thing that is unique is the view and the fact that the building is a glass-encased pier. However, the interior decor already feels a little drab and worn. It is unfortunate because I like to support fine Westchester establishments (so that I don't always have to go to the city for a great restaurant).
NOT VERY GOOD

I went to restaurant X2O on Tuesday evening to take my dearest friend out for her birthday. The experience was less than enjoyable. First, the hostess who escorted us to the table was very unfriendly & when we asked for a window table (in an empty restaurant), she just ignored us. The wine which was on the menu that I ordered was not available & the white wines by the glass were extremely limited & not very good. The service is just not up to an Xaviar's restaurant & does not compare to Xaviar's in Piermont where I ate just a few weeks before. While we were having a drink & looking at the menus I saw that another couple was given the window table I requested & spoke to the manager about our experience. She made an excuse for the hostess (which I thought was in poor taste) & then escorted us to a better table. Lastly, I made the reservation on Savored & was treating my friend. When the waiter brought the check he loudly told me that my 25% was taken off - boy was I embarrassed. Didn't anyone train this staff to know that often people use savored to treat other people or for business & they do not want them to know they are getting a discount. All in all this was a less than enjoyable experience. This restaurant needs to get it's act together. I do not think that I can return here the way things are now.
Not even close to what it should be

Came in at 12:30 with a group of 13 people. I got my lunch at 2:30. Now for anybody that works you would understand why burning your afternoon on a mediocre meal would be frustrating. We have more important things to do. This might work better for seniors trying to kill an afternoon. The waitstaff was nowhere to be found. It took 3 requests to the busboy filling out water glasses and bread plates to actually get a waiter to come around. The food was nothing to brag about. The cod with green sauce on it with orzo was bland and tasteless. Boring is a good way to describe it. The tuna would have been great if it actually came when I was hungry and did not load up on bread and water. Nobody really cared about the food when it finally came out. The funny thing was that Peter X Kelly himself was at the front when we walked out. My advice to him would be to stay in the kitchen where he is most needed and hire someone to run service to actually get the food out.
A Special Place

I love this place. The food, the atmosphere, the service was all great. These people make you feel that to them, your dining experience is the most important thing of the day. Yes, it is expensive, hey nothings perfect. But this place comes about as close to perfect as I've seen in quite a while. If you want a great meal and be treated like royalty, I don't think you'd be disapointed.

Admittedly, this was only the second time I have dinned at X20, and both times were for Sunday brunch, but I have to admit that I was disappointed on both occasions. The venue is stunning, and well worth the trip from Manhattan, but with a price point that is on par with all of my favorite brunch spots in the city, the food just does not stand up. The passed hors d'oeuvres are in line with a decent wedding venue, the rock shrimp was tough and over cooked and the tuna roll was boring. The mains were wilty, poorly cooked, and lacking taste. The deserts looked good, but did not deliver on consistency and taste. If a pre-fix Sunday brunch is the big event, the creme brulee should not have been prepared the night before (or perhaps earlier).

Everything we ate was simply delicious. I went there with my boyfriend, we sat at the bar, where you can order from both menu's. The bartender was very nice and the d`ecor was just lovely.... But the food. The food was outstanding. For our main course we ordered the rib eye for 2 and it was hands down the best steak i have ever eaten in my life. I am not even kidding. Go there! Go there every day!

We ate at X2O on Saturday, July 7th Â– less than a month after the opening. And yet Peter X. KellyÂ’s version of the Lexus mantra (Â“the relentless pursuit of perfectionÂ”) was evident even at this juncture. Located literally on the Hudson River (built on a Yonkers pier), the floor to ceiling windows of the main dining room initially focus your attention outward. Views of the river, the GW bridge and the NY skyline to the south, the cliffs of the Palisades to the west, and the Tappan Zee bridge to the north fill the space with spectacular views. Inside think Four SeasonsÂ’ elegance rather than Ritz-Carlton opulence. The high ceiling, open interior decor embraces the exterior views without competing with them. The ambience manages to be sleek and modern without feeling cold and industrial. From the sheer number of attentive staff at the front desk, to the gentleman who seemingly did nothing except make sure my water glass was never empty, everyone was eager to please. We focused on seafood were quite pleased. The lobster tart and the scallops with citrus were excellent. On the meat side, a short rib and foie gras ravioli was outstanding.
