My husband and I (fiance at the time) went here after we were engaged in Central Park. We were just walking around in la la land looking for food. We saw the Zona Rosa and decided to try it. My husband, being a Mexican Native, never holds high hopes for any Mexican kitchen besides his own, however, he was impressed with the different variations on classic Mexican dishes. The Guac was great. Very Fresh. Food arrived hot and beer and cocktails were ice cold. Service was wonderful. We plan to make a trip back around our anniversary this fall.

Gaucamole great. Chunks of fresh avocado. Asked for no onions and got it. Ceviche with scallops, octopus, clams, mussels and calamari had a kick to it and tasted fine. Good to have jicama, orange slices and cucumber instead of bread. Serves to counteract spicy food, which I just don't personally care for. Had grilled tuna, rare, with roasted corn and avocado salsa. Noticed pattern of cuisine uses julienne cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and different chiles. Loved the dulce de leche ice cream. Ice creams and sorbets are made on the premises. Wouldn't bring kids, because they're too young to appreciate this fine food.

Yet again we tried a Mexican place, hoping to find one we want to return to, but starting out with Margaritas that tasted like cough syrup, we weren't hopeful. The server was pleasant and very agreeable to taking them back. Appetizers were fine. The ceviche, served in a tall glass, was actually quite good. We skipped guacamole, having been told to do that. My main course was something called a vegetable casserole that was, in fact, three small, soft tacos filled with vegetables. I tasted the pork chop, which was highly seasoned and not anything I liked. Prices are reasonable for that area but I'd stick with the sushi places on 56 Street, rather than go back here.
