My fiance proposed with a Mc2 bloomed gold Flora ring and it made the most thrilling of occasions infinitely more exciting. I'd never seen anything like it - classic, yet completely original and absolutely gorgeous. It's perfect. Walter has been incredibly helpful and kind throughout the sizing and ordering of our wedding bands. Everything at Mc2 is done with such care and generosity. This is what she wants. Trust me.

The first McTeigue and McClelland ring that I ever saw belonged to my best friend. I was enthralled as I'd never seen anything like it. Years later my boyfriend asked her for help picking out my ring and he surprised me with the Bella Flora ring. It's been a couple of months and everyday I love the ring even more. It's such a unique piece and absolutely perfect in every way. On top of loving my ring, Walter McTeigue has been so great. When I said that I was reluctant to part with the ring for a week to get it resized, he invited us to Great Barrington to their studio so that they could resize the ring while we waited. The visit was so lovely and really part of the amazing experience of owning a ring designed by these great people.

The best. After searching ~8 months for a once in a lifetime jewelry purchase, I discovered Mc2. Samantha Larson and Mc2 delivered the best gem, the best ring/setting, the best execution, and the best service. The gem was a rare and difficult to locate hue. I viewed 100+ stones. Mc2 found a clear winner. It was the best hue, good saturation, unheated, and a good cut. Mc2 also introduced me to interesting stones that I would love to purchase in the future. The ring and setting were an unusual design. I searched through many jewelry books and spent 100s of hours viewing online images. But I didn’t find anything like the Mc2 design. I especially like how the ring, setting, and prongs are integrated with the stone. In some ring designs the wiring from the basket holding the stone is unsightly. The Mc2 design obviated this flaw. Samantha provided exceptional service. She continually responded to my seemingly endless inquiries long after I expected her to tire of them. Now I have a body of knowledge to employ in future purchases as well as a reliable jeweler. Moreover, Samantha translated the exacting requests described in my non-professional terms to lexicon understood by the fabricators so that the custom design I wanted was how I hoped. Mc2 earned my highest recommendation: I encourage anyone to consider them.

I bought my wifes engagement ring from MC2 close to 4 years ago, and I have to say it's still the best purchase I've ever made. The ring is as beautiful now as it was when I bought it, and my wife still smiles everytime she looks at it. Walter was extremely easy to work with, and at no point in time did I ever feel pressure to buy something that I wasn't 100% sure about. Initially my plan was to buy a diamond elsewhere (possibly blue nile or the diamond district), and just get the setting from MC2. They were very patient and helpful with regards to my diamond search, even offering to review the stats for me to ensure I didn't miss anything. In the end I bought both the diamond and setting from MC2, and I'm happy it worked out that way. Can't recommend these guys enough.

For our engagement, my fiance and I were in search of a unique and beautiful ring. We were drawn to MCII because of the beautiful range of colorful stones that they use, their unique ring designs, and their hand craftsmanship. Samantha Larson made the selection process both accessible and exciting. I visited Great Barrington to choose the stone, and my fiance and I visited again for our engagement weekend. Each time was a very memorable. To select the stone, I saw a wide range of incredible choices, and Samantha helped me to make a perfect choice for both stone and setting. When we visited to pick up the ring, Samantha thoughtfully helped my fiance to bring a surprise element to his proposal. On the same visit we met Walter, we talked with Tim about his approach to design and craftsmanship, we toured their workshop, and we met the artisan, Barbara Crocker, who made my ring. The process gave my fiance and I a deeper appreciation of the beautiful work of art that he gave to me. We bought our wedding rings from MCII as well, and they are stunning. I cannot imagine a better or more meaningful experience in buyng jewelry, and I truly cannot wait until the next time that I go back to visit and for more of their incredible work.

I knew that my gf wanted something unique, but I didn't know where to begin. The team at McII was extremely helpful bringing a complete novice up to speed with the numerous aspects that go into the perfect ring. John took the time to explain the 4 C's (and many other practical considerations that I never would have imagined), while accompanying each description with a tangible example. There is also a noticeable difference between salesmen and craftsmen. The McII team never appeared pushy or sales-driven. They were much more concerned about getting it "right" than getting it "done". For someone who was extremely nervous about making such a large purchase, the McII team provided a comfortable environment to make such a momentous decision. From a logistics stand point, Walter was incredibly accessible in both New York City and Great Barrington. I couldn't have been happier with my experience, and we couldn't be happier with the result.

I knew I wanted a say in the ring, but my boyfriend wanted it to be a surprise. So I decided I would do some research so I could give him hints of what I liked. From the beginning, I didn't want a solitaire. I didn't love prongs, and I didn't want my ring to look like anyone else's. But then I visited McII, and I fell in love (with a ring, not another man). Each ring looked unique and special. With vintage flair and designs that screamed artisanal, I knew I had found the place. And to my surprise, the ring that was most perfect was a solitaire. But it looked nothing like any solitaire I had ever seen. I was simple and elegant, subtly detailed and beautiful from ever angle. The craftsmanship was astounding. How could they make a solitaire look so different and unusual? You'll have to check them out to find out! I look at my now and I am so happy. It is the perfect ring for me, and the perfect ring for us.

My now fiance came across McTigue & McClelland when helping a friend look for rings. She had commented then that their designs were the most unique and special that she had seen. I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with John and Walter choosing the design and stone to surprise her with an engagement ring. And Steve created a ring that she will treasure forever. Several of her closest friends have commented how suited to her it is, that if she were a ring, this is the ring she would be. After the surprise engagement we had the pleasure of visiting their workshop in their Berkshires - a very special experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for something uniquely wonderful!

After I saw McTeigue and McClelland's jewelry for the first time, I looked around for other rings with creative settings like theirs; I couldn't find anything else that stood out even remotely. My fiance met with Walter in New York and picked out a beautiful sapphire set in the floral band, and I absolutely love it (though that doesn't mean I don't go to their web site every now and then to browse other rings... their diamonds and rubies are amazing, and I love the diamond cuffs on some of their bands). We are having our wedding bands made with McTeigue and McClelland also: Walter met us in New York and helped us choose matching wrought iron bands with gold inside. They've been lovely to work with, helpful and available but never pushy. I couldn't be happier with my engagement ring, and we can't wait to see our bands. I'm not a jewelry person--I rarely wear anything but my engagement ring--so I love having one thing that's so special and gorgeous.

Throughout the engagement ring selection process I was continually drawn to McII's unique and inspiring designs. Despite visiting a number of the more well-known and venerable institutions in high end jewelry I kept envisioning the McII Flora designs I had seen online. I decided I had to visit McII in G.B. This trip turned out to be the trip of a lifetime and I knew I had found the right place within a few minutes of looking at their Jewelry and speaking with Sam. The pictures do not do justice to the quality of work this group is doing. Initially Sam helped steer me toward the optimum stone from which point we decided on the design with both her and Tim. She helped me base my decisions off not only what I wanted, but also in trying to match a ring to a woman she had never met before. They absolutely put my mind at ease with this big decision and the next few months were great. They kept me posted throughout the fabrication process sending me countless pictures and emails to help capture the journey from beginning to end. The ring turned out to be a one of a kind design which often is the case with McII, and my fiancé adores it. The compliments are flattering and seemingly endless. We took a trip back to G.B. recently for me to share the experience with her and to pick out our wedding bands. Every time I look at her ring it makes me smile thinking not only about the beauty of the ring but also the intimate setting that all meshed together to make this exquisite piece.
