A Dream Come True
By lsteffey on 3/22/2010
Let me just say that the ring that McTeigue & McClelland made for us is the most beautiful piece of jewelry I've ever seen, without a doubt! The design is both classic and totally unique, it's vintage and fashion-forward, and it looks both delicate and sturdy. I would think that balancing all these things in one piece would be impossible but Walter and Tim have done it ever so gracefully and perfectly. I need to figure out how to be more comfortable with all the compliments and awe. I will be the first to say, it's wonderful! I just love it! It's a strange feeling to be humbled, lifted and comforted by a piece of jewelry. It's empowering to be wearing something so beautiful and so meaningful. And, the process of having it made was just as wonderful as the finished product!
My favorite place

I have purchased several pieces from Mc2, and each one is absolutely wonderful. Most recently I worked with them on altering an estate piece. The patience and care they put into helping me made the whole experience a pleasure. I am very happy with the results, and I would recommend Mc2 to anyone looking for a beautiful piece of jewelry in a heartbeat. Hopefully they will be my one stop for any jewelry I purchase in the future.
The perfect ring and the perfect experience

For our engagement, my fiance and I were in search of a unique and beautiful ring. We were drawn to MCII because of the beautiful range of colorful stones that they use, their unique ring designs, and their hand craftsmanship. Samantha Larson made the selection process both accessible and exciting. I visited Great Barrington to choose the stone, and my fiance and I visited again for our engagement weekend. Each time was a very memorable. To select the stone, I saw a wide range of incredible choices, and Samantha helped me to make a perfect choice for both stone and setting. When we visited to pick up the ring, Samantha thoughtfully helped my fiance to bring a surprise element to his proposal. On the same visit we met Walter, we talked with Tim about his approach to design and craftsmanship, we toured their workshop, and we met the artisan, Barbara Crocker, who made my ring. The process gave my fiance and I a deeper appreciation of the beautiful work of art that he gave to me. We bought our wedding rings from MCII as well, and they are stunning. I cannot imagine a better or more meaningful experience in buyng jewelry, and I truly cannot wait until the next time that I go back to visit and for more of their incredible work.

My now fiance came across McTigue & McClelland when helping a friend look for rings. She had commented then that their designs were the most unique and special that she had seen. I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with John and Walter choosing the design and stone to surprise her with an engagement ring. And Steve created a ring that she will treasure forever. Several of her closest friends have commented how suited to her it is, that if she were a ring, this is the ring she would be. After the surprise engagement we had the pleasure of visiting their workshop in their Berkshires - a very special experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for something uniquely wonderful!
the best one of a kind, special jewelry
By bronxville_poet on 9/7/2009
I was recently in the engagement ring market. Having looked from designer to designer and come to the conclusion that all the rings look exactly the same, I found M&M. Walter McTeigue sat down with me and listened to exactly what I wanted. He counseled, questioned, called his expert jewelers at the shop, and talked it over with his talented partner, Tim McClelland. By the time I left his office, he and I were both very excited about the ring. In the end, the sapphire, diamond, and platinum ring is more valuable to me than any I've seen, absolutely gorgeous, and completely one of a kind. My fiancee and I would go back to M&M in a heartbeat for any piece of jewelry for which we care about the quality and the cost and encourage others to do the same.
This could not have turned out better.

Working with McTeigue & McClelland was WONDERFUL - following is the email I wrote to them just after my purchase which sums it up best: "Hi Walter, Now, I'm ashamed that I didn't get back to you first to say what a pleasure it has been for me and Sarah working with MC2. I've been meaning to but you beat me to it. It really, really could not have gone better. The ring is so beautiful - what we got last week totally exceeded both of our expectations. Diamonds are formed under extreme pressure of course and I'm sure that most ring purchases occur under great pressures of a different kind - but our experience working with you and Tim (and Kevin over the phone) was relaxed and completely enjoyable. I feel like I totally lucked out." All in all, a perfect expeience.
Unique, handmade, stunning jewelry

We were originally drawn to McTeigue & McClelland by the designs featured on their website -- gorgeous pieces that were totally different than anything else we'd seen. We came to be equally impressed with the exquisitely cut diamonds they sourced for us, the meticulous craftsmanship that went into our engagement ring, and the helpful -- and patient -- guidance they offered throughout the process. We couldn't have been happier with the experience or with our beautiful ring.
An Instant Classic
By abw on 9/13/2010
I would first like to thank Walter, Tim, and everyone in the shop for a ring that is an instant classic, a true piece of art, and a new family heirloom. The enthusiasm for their craft was immediately evident during my first meeting with Walter, which took place in their comfortable and very private NYC office. I had given Walter a price range for total cost of the ring prior to meeting, and he presented me with two amazing stones he thought would work best with the setting I was after. We then spent an hour discussing everything from diamond quality to ring finish, and I was positive by the end of our meeting that I was dealing with true professionals & artisans; a stark contrast to the shops I first visited in NYC. My fiance was rendered speechless by the finished product, and I was proud to give her a ring as unique and special as she is. It was a great experience from start to finish!
Hands Down...The Absolute Best
By nsnyder on 8/16/2011
My husband and I discovered Mc2 at Gumps in SF. We flew to their Great Barrington, MA office & created a one of a kind, custom engagement ring. Walter & Tim soon felt like family and made our experience unforgettable. My husband met with Walter in their NY office to hand pick the center stone from a selection that Walter picked to go with the ring. After the proposal, we flew back East 6 months later to design our wedding bands. When we walked in, we felt at home & it was like a reunion with the most amazing people. Walter & Tim helped us design the most gorgeous wedding rings (mine compliments my engagement ring). They are so knowledgeable and reliable. We even stopped back the week of our wedding to pick up our rings, shine up my engagement ring & Samantha helped us pick out the most perfect pair of earrings for my wedding day. We have nothing by the highest regards for McTeigue & McClelland. I can't wait to go back and design our 1 year anniversary ring :)
MC2 - Tim and Walter Offer Amazing Service & Gorgeous Jewlery!
By Manolakis2 on 12/1/2011
First off, McTeigue & McClelland offer some of the most gorgeous jewelry on the market today. Not only is it beautiful, but the quality of the craftsmanship and materials is top-rate. I purchased an engagement ring from them that blew my fiance away. In addition to the work, the service is also first rate. After purchasing the ring, we met with both Tim and Walter multiple times in their NYC office to make a few adjustments to the size of the ring. They have a lovely little office conveniently located near Rock center. We also plan on shooting up to Great Barrington for a weekend to get some wedding bands made, and possibly scout out a nice surprise wedding gift for my future wife as well. Thanks to Walter, Tim and the entire MC2 team!
