I have to think that this place has serious MANAGEMENT issues, since the store help is so consistently lousy. How hard is it to find and keep decent help, if you run your business properly? I ordered $100 basket for a family member who was in the hospital. The gentlemen (and I use that term loosely) offered me "Small, Large or Deluxe." When I asked what that meant, he said "Like I said, Small, Large or Deluxe." Fortunately, I had the website open to help myself along, since this guy was not especially keen on doing anything to help me. I almost hung up, but persevered through his attitude. After not receiving a return call for 4 hours, I called back, whereupon the new individual did not know the name of the guy I spoke to who took my order. After being placed on hold two (2) times, I asked to speak with the original guy. When I was finally connected to the original gentlemen who helped me, he said was entering the FedEx information as we spoke and would call me back. He did call me back shortly thereafter to tell me the FedEx would be about $31, which I said was fine for the Large Basket. He assured me that if I called the next day, he would be working and could give me the tracking number. When I called back the next day to ask to speak with the gentlemen, I was told that this person "is no longer here." I was told it looked very nice, but geez, for all this trouble order some damn fruit from Harry and David.

I was a bit hesitant to try because of the negative reviews I had read about the terrible customer service. I went on a Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago and I have to say the two people working behind the counter could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The cookies I bought were out of this worlld, choclate chip and choclate chip mint. I asked for directions to my next destination and they took out a map to help me! Doesn't get much better than that. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Cookies are soft, sweet and moist; two thumbs up.But, I won't ever go back to this place after what I'd consider to be an irredeemable quality: rude, pretentious service. The man who worked there not only gabbed on the phone knowing I was waiting, but scoffed at me for asking a few questions, then threw my cookies in a box and literally made me reach across the counter to pick them up. No please, no thank you.Mind you, no one else was in line. Where someone comes off being so blatantly loutish in the cut-throat environment that is West Village bakeries, is beyond me. I've worked in several restaurants in my lifetime and would've been fired on the spot if any of my managers had witnessed me treat a customer that way.I'll happily go to Magnolia or Jacques Torres.

This is a great find in the West Village and a serious competitor to Jacques Torres' cookies. I've been there a couple of times and every time they have run out of certain cookies (this was around lunchtime). I thought this was weird since it was 1:30 (I was told they were very busy although there was no one in the store). I'll just keep popping by until I get to try their oatmeal raisin.

I pre-ordered for a surprise birthday party for 20 people. They confirmed delivery at 3pm. At 4pm I received a phone call from Milk & Cookies saying they had a problem with their deliveryman and therefore the delivery would not be happening at all. This bad news was delivered with no remorse than a hang up. Needless to say I will not be wasting my time here again.

What a find this little shop was. The homemade cookies are delicious on their own, but make one into an ice cream sandwich, and you have perfection. Worth the little side trip whenever one is in the Village. I would recommend this place for an afternoon snack while shopping in the Village, or an after theater dessert... And if you are in the neighborhood with kids, this will be a real treat.

I actually hesitate to write this because I don't want this place to get Magnolia-ed (lines, hype, etc). But since the last person tore it apart and I don't want to see it close, I should speak up. M&C is the cutest f*ing place in the WV. My roommate and I found it late the other night on our way back from dinner at Grey Dog (also great) and stopped in. In her words "I feel like we stepped into a storybook." The cookies are even better than the atmosphere. They're brilliant in their simplicity and perfectly baked. Oatmeal bourbon? Mint Chocolate? This is why I joined a gym. Get them warm from the oven and learn the meaning of delicious. And the coffee? It would have been nice if they'd offered decaf, but it's the best cup I've had outside Columbus Bakery so I won't whine. Just try this place.
