  • No, I would not go back!

I'm a New York-based fashion model and college student. I was informed that I could not enter you're store tonight because it was closing. However, this is not TRUE other white customers entered you're bookstore after me and my black friend left. Racial discrimination is NOT okay. You should be ashamed of your actions.

Randomly came here on whim with friends a few weeks ago while walking down Union Square to get to Urban Outfitters and Toy Tokyo, even though it was jokingly promised that we'd not go into any bookstores/shops, haha. Small, but neat. The place is organized by fiction, non-fiction, known authors, etc. And although it's close to The Strand, it's got some really neat books here too. I myself was almost tempted to buy a few books, though I couldn't since I'd saved it for our outing at the time. One of my friends though found a few choice books she liked, mainly about egyptian languages and such. There's a whole lot of books about anthropology here too, some good fashion ones, tons of history from probably whatever time period you could think about, and a section for cookbooks and whatnot. Aside from the fiction titles and usual genres of course. Very little manga section, though that's probably what makes it seem pretty cool- it's not a Barnes and Noble, but that small business charm is probably what'll keep me going back from time to time to look for things. The guy at the register was pretty nice too, even offering up information about the books my friend had purchased while ringing them up.

Some Hints:

  • The best reviews give a clear sense of why you liked or disliked a restaurant, bar, or store. And that means details. Mention specifics dishes, type of crowd, pros and cons...
  • If it's helpful to compare one place to another, go for it.
  • Come up with clever, funny, pithy subject lines, and write in the first person.
  • Don't forget to read the user rating guidelines and rules.
